It will count to overall costs and profitability or lack of it presumably Didn't Derby get around it re Rooney because the coaching/management staff didn't count or was it nonsense? I seem to remember some mention of this.

i think the names would be the same Warnock/McCarthy/Pearson types that guarantee nothing and pretty much offer more of the same....... Better than the four experimental appointments that everyone knows would struggle with the size of the job. In hindsight, Rowett could have worked but he lost the crowd and after that there is no way back. No in hindsight Rowett turned a pretty shit situation into a horrendous one by pissing £50m up the wall on overpaid wasters that weren't right for this club. And their current records don't suggest they would simply propel us to the next level, McCarthy had a flier but it's become more of a struggle, Warnock's team sit just above us by a coupe of points and Pearson is struggling to inspire his troops and will be looking to overhaul the squad no doubt.......

It's time for change I would change the CEO ,the head of recruitment and the way the club is run Why does the fact that MoN ,NJ and Rowett are happier running northern Ireland / Luton / Millwall make them bad managers ? Why do we have to keep endlessly churning the manager until we can find one that thrives on an amateur CEO and amateur recruitment set up ? Does such a manager even exist ? A forward thinking business or organisation would look for the common denominator in why three successive managers have failed despite the investment in players. Sadly the common denominator is hardly going to be a turkey voting for Christmas. Until Scholes is prized away from the club we are going nowhere.

I suppose the alternative to a Warnock type appointment would be someone like John Terry with a very, very experienced manager as mentor. Do you mean a Director of Football in charge of all things football with a head coach of his choosing? If so we’re years to late, should have been a priority on relegation.

i’d keep him though if he did go I’d go for a name looking to get into management who has connections in the PL and can get some young talent down at low cost. Would at least tide us over for a season till the dead woods contracts run out. John Terry would be a decent shout.

Peter has nothing to do with it now It's John pulling the strings now! Ans isn't that when the downward slide began. Starting to watch the recent Meet the board & manager on you Tube. had to switch it off as John Coates could not string a coherent sentence together

I don't like him, but I would go for Howe. It needs to be someone who knows players, can organise a club and will have the instant respect of the squad. Michael O'Neil?

He did brilliantly last year and for me he’s still got some credit in the bank but it’s rapidly dwindling.
We can’t defend, have very little attacking threat, play boring negative football with players that look like they don’t give a flying fuck!
It’s getting Rowettesque and can’t continue much longer.
MoN is responsible so either he needs to change it or he needs to be changed.
I’d give him till Christmas

There is nothing else this manager can do. It's madness to consider dismissing him. You kidding? (Re nothing else he could do) We have regressed from last season under him. Why is he playing a back 3? There’s no need for it, it’s pathetically negative. Why does he use Vokes? He doesn’t have to. Why did he shit himself when Campbell got injured? This season has been a disaster from him. He looks naive, negative and massively out of his depth. On all the previous managers I've always agreed with you but you have this wrong. He performed a miracle last season. He was doing well with what he had this season until Campbell and several others were injured. What else could he have done this last few months? Please tell me

Fell asleep just before half time, I've grown a knack of switching the game on and nodding off. I can only assume we lost and it wasn't very good haha Early 2nd half I was 😴 away. Woke up when heard a goal had been scored & as soon as saw it was 2-0 to them I closed my eyes again!

Here's kind of where I'm at: I get concerned when the "We need a massive overhaul" thread maintains a constant presence on this board for years. People make fun of it but we NEED it, we HAVE BEEN needing it, we previously BLEW it, and now we can't DO it. (New song?)
JC's interview (Talking about picking a manager while with a friend at a pub) made me cringe so hard that my face was creased for hours. That was/is an embarrassment, either he has a brain tumor, was drunk at the time or he really is as dumb as a rock!
I am terrified upon hearing that JC is now "making the decisions." Unless he has sought professional help recently, that's disastrous! He needs advice alright - from Dr. Phil, a Director of Football Operations, a shaman healer and someone who can teach him how to respond to the media.
I am bothered seeing this team "cruise out the season" which could put us at the bottom of this league making it harder to recruit. For recruiting, league position doesn't matter as much in the PL but it does in this league.
MON scares me now with his substitutions, tactics and stubbornness. I think his "accounts" are now level and previously built-up credit has been used. Starting to lean towards Bayern's opinion for next year. Is waiting until Christmas too dangerous? I don't know...maybe.
The injuries for the past several years - something has been wrong in our coaching/conditioning for a while. (Unless we believe in curses)
Seeing the "we need a manager who" threads - Do we bring in a "jowl slapper" to scare the living hell out of the players? Or a "motivational" guy who they will suddenly "choose to play for" - that pisses me off because they are supposed to be professionals. I'm leaning towards the first option because Tony Robbins, Mr. Rogers and Captain Kangaroo are all unavailable.
Guess I'm just riding along with everyone else on the Frustration Express, hoping something changes soon.

He should not be our manager for the start of next season - next season will be no different to the last 4 months. He is totally inflexible/stubborn and will not change The only chance he has of being in the top half by Christmas is if Campbell hits the ground running from day 1 and I just cant see Campbell being 100% fit until October. By then we will already be in the bottom 3 This manager will get Stoke relegated next season unless he changes his outlook or has a massive slice of good fortune with a couple of players What did he do last season which he hasn't done this season? Is Campbell the only difference? its the formation, and we had had a midfield that worked last season. yes, injuries have been brutal this season, however, he has insisted on playing the 352 too much this season, and sticking with players who have played badly. ie, Mikel, Vokes sub etc.. there have been many times when we've all see that a certain position would have been better with player xyz, but he's incredibly formulaic and crucially, predictable to all and sundry. also, i can only assume with maclean's insubordination on social media, the dressing room is not harmonious.

Someone on an earlier thread made a very insightful comment - that may explain a good part of the “new manager bounce” phenomenon - that the players were so relieved to be rid of Mad Nate that they were willing to double down and play like professional footballers. Hence last season’s miracle that MON wrought. But once they began to get to know the new guy, all that initial enthusiasm began to wear off. And now they’ve realized that he’s a bit of a clueless plodder. If that’s true, there’s no way to change it. And that means he needs to go sooner rather than later.

It changed after the Campbell injury, it wasn't the players that stoped it though, he completely changed the approach to games almost over night and didn't even given them a chance to see if they could do it without him.

I will dig around. last time this came around, there was myself and one other on this board begging for Christophe Galtier. Well he's top of the french league now with Lille, ahead of PSG and Marseille. (and he wouldn't touch us with a shitty stick now either)

Easy but wrong. He didn't even select Campbell in the first month of the season, preferring Ince and Gregory. It's only when those two failed that Campbell was used, and with Fletcher guiding him he struck a rich vein of form. In all likelihood it wouldn't have continued the whole season, had he been fit. Aaaaand we've been awful ever since, like I said it was his only tactic how it came about doesn't change that, I can rephrase it to only tactic that has worked if you like but it still amounts to the same thing. Campbell got going because Fletcher was guiding him. Who says so? Campbell. If Fletcher had been injured before Campbell, Ty would have struggled.

Wrong. He is still co-chairman. He's not bothered answering calls from Pete Smith, but he's every bit as dedicated and committed to SCFC as he ever was. He's very much still there but he gets out voted 2 to 1 now in most big decisions! There's four men on the board, so I don't know how you work that out...

Time to go.
Results and performances are deteriorating.
Unfortunately the team that pick the manager are no better than the team on the field.
