Who was our manager when he was pictured at our training ground during summer window?
Excellent player. What a season he's had for Leeds.

Yeah mate ....Let’s also not forget some on here when Mark Hughes was the manager when Jack Grealish was linked with us at £12m

To be fair, there is a huge, huge difference in the Stuart Dallas pre Bielsa and the Stuart Dallas with Bielsa.
He has transformed him and quite a few others in that squad.
Ayling at right back is another, as is Alioski. Pretty average Championship players before he turned up.
Manager was Nathan Jones btw.

I think my stance on it at the time was "Stop moaning, we're a Championship side now. Get used to it". Equally, I can't recall anyone on here saying we must sign him because he's going to go on and be a good PL player. It cuts both ways.

I think I might have been one of those who said he was shit. I expected him to struggle in the prem.

I've been following Stuart Dallas career since he was a teenager playing for my local side Crusaders FC.
What a player he's become, back then he mainly played as a striker/winger and won both the young player and player of the season awards in the league.
From there he went to Brentford and struggled for games in League One, being sent on loan at Northampton in League Two.
Then even in the season where Brentford reached the championship playoffs he wasn't a regular first team player and made most of his appearances from the bench. In the same season Leeds were finishing just above the relegation places. At the time the move was very much a step downwards.
Then even at Leeds alot of their fans still didn't see a long term future for Dallas, even after Bieslas first and second season. But like a fine wine he just seems to have got better with age.
I think Stuart's a true example of a player who's worked for what he's achieved and has given 110% commitment throughout his career, he deserves everything he's achieved so far. At 16/17 years old he was still playing amateur football in Northern Ireland and doing an apprenticeship as a joiner I believe.
I remember in January 2020 even touting him as a potential signing for ourselves. Because alot of Leeds fans even after winning promotion didn't think he'd have it in him to step up to the premier League. But throughout his career he has continually just proved his doubters wrong.

Yes clearly. But at the time he looked awful. Not having it with Bale though. We were linked with a shit left back there. He’d have been an awful signing.

There was a guy on here going on about Bielsa years ago when things started to go backwards under Hughes, unfortunately he isn’t British so wouldn’t have been on our radar

Apparently, from what I've heard, it's not really possible to transform a player through management and coaching.. the only real option is to wait until their contract has expired and then sell them for a pittance.

Gareth Bale, for much of his career considered the third best footballer in the world, would have been an awful signing for Stoke. As I understand it, because he was playing left back at the time. Thank goodness the pubs and gyms are open tomorrow.
