If Collins is fully fit after a full pre season, he and Souttar have to start the season as first choice CB's. None of Collins at right back, have the balls to play them together. If so, no need for Chester, either or Baath to both stay. Forrester can add to the CB pool?.

If that happens then we need to ensure there is a quality holding midfield player sitting in front of them.

The side needs building around them. If we don’t get promoted in next couple of years they’ll be sold to a premier league club

Like Campbell, O'Neill gradually brought them in and they have come on leaps in the last 12 months, handled them so well. Souttar looks better every game, be surprised if a big club doesn't show interest soon but the way it is. Good that we have him under a new contract on that front.

I would like to see them together for a few games at the end of the season.
Give some confidence if they perform well to start them next season as a starting pair.

Which decent right back is on a free at the end of the season? I think Smith has done well after being reinstalled to the first 11! To me he seems to be our best crosser of the ball as well!

Not out of contract but Dabo looks a player. Thought he was? Not seen Dabo personally. I could be wrong. Just seen him twice/three times here but was in the Eridivise and looks a quality player. Wasn't he originally on loan then signed ? Forget where he was on loan in the lower leagues

Have the club revealed the nature of the Collins injury and return date or is it 'Top Secret' like the Campbell injury?

Have the club revealed the nature of the Collins injury and return date or is it 'Top Secret' like the Campbell injury? Fractured metatarsal apparently.Campbell has articular cartilage damage.I've read it somewhere so it's hardly top secret. Just because they are professional footballers, they are still entitled to confidentiality with regards to medical issues, and if they choose not to disclose the exact nature of an injury then that's their perogative.

Which decent right back is on a free at the end of the season? Not exactly a free transfer, but he will come free: Kieran Coates is our next right back.

That's what I thought in respect of Collins so not sure why people are talking June? That would be 6 months rather than the more usual 6 weeks. Guess like all injuries there are gradations of metatarsal. Didn't we get golden balls back for a World Cup in about 3 weeks?

To be fair, Smith does seem to have sorted some of his problems out since the early part of his time at the club. When Collins picked up his injury I feared the worst but, although there have been clear and obvious problems since Christmas, Smith doesn't seem to have been the worst of them. As you say his crossing does seem to be better than anything else from a right footer at the club - maybe Brown is best used in providing the short passes and the space for Smith to put his crosses in.

Which decent right back is on a free at the end of the season? I wouldn't be surprised if Stephen O'Donnell ends up here from Motherwell. Out of contract in the summer and we were linked in January. Not sure how good he is.

I really hope MON takes the opportunity to give Coates a few appearances towards the end of the season. It always seems to me that a few appearances for the better young players late in the season is the best motivation they could have to start the following season on the front foot.

Have you had Championship success at any other clubs you’ve managed? Have you heard of a football discussion forum? Nothing personal, it just came across as a little naive. There’s no doubting their future prospects but I doubt they have such complete attributes that they would replace established personnel.

Wasn't there a link to a right back playing in the Irish leagues a while back?. I have been told we are after 3 free transfers, a striker, we will pay money for and 2 loans..sounds about right.. sadly no names..
