This is one of the reasons I've lost faith in him. We already had so much useless horseshit on our books, and he's just gone and added some more! On shorter deals, far less wages and the majority of which are still at an age where they can be moved on if necessary. Oakley-Booth is 21 and was free, Thompson 24 and costs a couple of hundred grand, Fox is a steady Championship left back, Chester and Mikel will probably move on in the summer, Fletcher has something to offer when he's fit albeit we can't be over reliant on him, Brown is 22 and Doughty 21. The rest are loans and will probably go back to their respective clubs. I still think it's way too early to write some of these players off as well....... His biggest signing Brown will never be a footballer as long as hes got a hole in his arse. Hes desperately bad. Two million in the current climate is a significant amount of money in this league.

Mate we’ve got Vokes who we signed for £9 million. Brown doesn’t look much cop and it’s a shame we blew our kitty on him, but let’s no pretend £2 million is anything other than a pittance.

I do like MON but growing increasingly concerned about his team selections and in game management. The starting 11 was questionable and the subs diabolical last night and that's a reoccurring theme. I really hope theres a 'big plan' in place this summer and this season has been used to toe the line to FFP but if we see this garbage going into a new season then there is no doubt that the fanbase will make their feelings known and rightly so.

They’re both letting the manager down massively in my opinion. Brown has been played in his best position the past 3 games and he’s been a 6/10 at best, in the second half of Sheffield Wednesday. Any left back up against him must think they’re in for a steady 90 minutes work. Even McClean would give his full back a tougher time. Thompson I think could be a good player. I’m not going to judge him too harshly until he has our best centre midfielder (Cousins). He still needs to be offering way more. Lots of players letting MON down apart from the reliable few. His subs are dodgy and he won’t play Cousins, other than that, I don’t think calling for his head is doing any good at all. The facts remain, we are 4 points off the play offs in a dreadful league with a dreadful squad. He’s doing okay. They shouldn’t be playing to let him down though. And I don’t think they have let him down. They have played how they have always played, badly because they’re not of the standard required in this league. MoN has been the single biggest issue this season. He’s been poor and has made us worse from the side he turned us into last season. Which is shocking tbh. I think he has made things a lot worse, for certain. At this point though, I’m really not sure what he can do with the squad available.

I agree his subs are dodgy and I don’t think he is the best at chasing a game.

Subs are a massive part of a manager's armoury in a game and he's so bad at positively affecting the game with them.

Yes it is two things that frustrate the hell out of me. I don’t want him sacked because of it though (I’m not saying you want him sacked either). My hope is Cousins survives the summer exodus of Mikel and Allen. It’s fucking weird though and I think some journalist needs to ask the question.

I think Michael is astute enough to know it was a mistake in signing Mikel.

I think Michael is astute enough to know it was a mistake in signing Mikel. Cousins is out of contract and can barely get a look in. I don't see what evidence there is (other than hope) to think he'll stay? I hope Allen does but again will he? MON clearly rates him very very highly.

We got soundly beaten by a very, very, average side. Their manager's done better with them, and their squad, than our manager has with ours, that's a fact. They had two players I'd heard of. We've a squad full of names, with 7 starters tonight having Premier League experience, and 3 more on the bench. Shameful all round. I think Barnsley's success this season is really showing MON up to be honest. They're a side who should be in League 1 now if not for Wigan's points reduction. Their new manager has come in and got them playing like a well-oiled unit. They are 5th in the form table since Ismael took charge of his first game. Granted MON brought a similar wave of performances out of our squad last season, but we've now regressed whereas Barnsley appear to be on it in every game they play. And to rub salt in the wound, they have spent pennies... and we pissed away our transfer budget on their player who's a steaming pile of shit!

I think the biggest problem for the club is how many supporters are going to buy a season ticket after watching that and some of the other displays?

I think the biggest problem for the club is how many supporters are going to buy a season ticket after watching that and some of the other displays? Plenty. Because it's what we do. I'm as pissed off as anybody and am adamant that I'm not paying £10 for the privilege of watching that shite on Saturday. However, come 2.30 Saturday afternoon, I know damn well I'll be logging on and buying a match pass - because I'm a Stoke City junkie. And it will be exactly the same with season tickets - myself and thousands of others, as pissed off as we are with our current ongoing malaise will buy one because it's in the blood and we don't know how not to.

Barnsley, the pitch and the weather made it a very difficult game for Stoke. You have to give the other team some credit.

Barnsley, the pitch and the weather made it a very difficult game for Stoke. You have to give the other team some credit. Yes the pitch was poor but Barnsley still had to play on it. Our primadonnas lost the plot second half, whereas Barnsley showed nouse, maximised their obvious limitations, and wanted it more. Our lot looked simply headless chickens 2nd half and completely disintegrated. I think that a significant number of fans are beginning to have some major doubts about the desire, ability, and mix of the squad.

If you take in to account how we played against them at their place last time and this time, they have moved forward and we have regressed
