They smashed us that night. I think that might have been the game where Simon Sturrridge got his bad injury? Oakwell was a graveyard for Stoke in those days. Other than one win on Boxing Day 86, we always used to lose there. Anyone remember the 5-4 at the Vic early nineties, a bit of a topsy Turvey game as I recall? Owen Archdeacon hit the underside of the bar with an incredible , bending shot

You just know he' s going to play a three in MF unfortunately - which obviously nulifies NP from the off How about 4 2 3 1: AG TS HS DB RND JA JOM JTh NP JTy SF With Thompson & Tymon a definite switch for Clarke & Brown. Or start them the other way round. + All x4 of those in particular to run their absolute bollox off and keep the pressure on them. We need to keep NP central.

I can't remember that bit, didn't we go 1 down, then 2-1 down, then 3-2 down? And 5-3 up by half time, with Martin carruthers scoring ( nearly missing an open goal, after rounding the keeper)? I could be wrong though, my memory is sketchy at best 🤔

I just remember the Archdeacon shot as it brought gasps from our fans, would have been a sensational goal, nearly took the bar off.

I remember Brendan O'Connell on the wing for them He was a good player and nearly lost his leg i seem to remember. One of those players who seemed to pop up against us for many clubs.

It is. Unless you’re a Man City you’re always hoping. But I’d prefer to be hoping we can win and get 7th than hoping we don’t lose and go in the bottom 3 like last season.
Let’s embrace the shitness.

Getting spicy now if we can win tomorrow! Eh?
Is it just me confused by the last games traffic light thingies at the end reading R to L, not L to R as you might expect?
Looks like we drew our last game?

A wet Wednesday in Barnsley. Sounds like the title of dour BBC drama, let's hope not for us. Beating this lot tonight by whatever means would be dead handy. Cardiff have shown what putting 5 greens back to back can do.

Here’s hoping for one victory out of the next two.
It would put us right back amongst it.

Fancy our season will be pretty much settled by Saturday night Nah We could win both and then have a bad run and finish tenth We could lose both and then go on a good run and finish fifth It's wide open and will remain so because only Norwich are consistent

It's actually the more defensive option (in my head anyway) with them dropping back into something more like a 4 4 1 1 if we are under the cosh. And those two (JTh & JTy) tucking in with the FBs bombing on when needed. If you look, Brown and Clarke are the more expected attacking 'winger' options to rotate. Let's just hope Brown invokes the unwritten rule of always scoring against your old club at some point.

After 2 wins and 2 clean sheets in a row, this game really feels like a big opportunity to assert our playoff challenge, particularly with Middlesborough losing and Bournemouth and Cardiff playing each other.
We then have 2 tough games (Brentford and Swansea), followed by Wycombe (must win) and then 2 more crucial games: Middlesborough and Cardiff.
After those games we will know if we are just a mid table side, or truly pushing for playoffs.

Precisely what the last post says, next 6 games will decide where we likely to be heading, playing teams in and around you give you massive impetus if you win, but obviously the opposite if you don't. If Fletcher & Powell stay fit, we have a fighting chance.

We need somebody else to step up and take the heat off Fletcher and Powell.
Clarke is the likely candidate, unlikely candidates perhaps TOB and Matondo. Clucas has it in his locker to score 5 goals between now and the end of the season.
Souttar, undoubtedly one of the players of the season. You’d think he would be fancying his chances of scoring every game but hasn’t looked close yet.
Vokes?
