Same team for me if all ok. Ismael doing a cracking job there, slightly better than he'll be remembered for at Palace as a player.

They smashed us that night. I think that might have been the game where Simon Sturrridge got his bad injury? Oakwell was a graveyard for Stoke in those days. Other than one win on Boxing Day 86, we always used to lose there.

Used to be a real bogey ground. No matter how well we played we seemed to lose. I even remember Beeston going clean through on goal once and being flagged offside after running on to his own through ball. as they played the offside trap

We could really do with winning one of the next two, I just hope MON goes for this one and doesn't have Brentford half on his mind. If we win tomorrow, I fancy us on Saturday as well. We are due a good run.
Tough games, but when you're playing well any game is winnable in this league.

They had a decent team that year. Was that Number 7 Clint Marcelle?

I vaguely remember Neil Redfearn either hitting 20 from midfield or not far off it and their right back getting a lot of praise (Nicky Eaden?)

What sort of set up are they..open, attacking, defensively well set up?. I like the look of Conor Woodrow up front...

What sort of set up are they..open, attacking, defensively well set up?. I like the look of Conor Woodrow up front... Press, Press, Press. Very high intensity to their play, which is a worry because that’s the kind of side we tend to struggle against. Watch out for Alex Mowatt. All action midfield player who’s out of contract in June, and the type of player I’d like to see us sign.

The Barnsley pitch is like Derby in the 70s
Watch this space in regards team selection for that reason alone

Allen/Thompson (mainly Joe) actually linked some things forward. And Fletch/Powell offer stickiness as targets with 2 of Tymon/Brown/Clarke for pace... For the first time in ages I feel like we have the tools to deal with a press so have some hope. Then I remember we might try to pass through Danny Batth.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chester were to start over Baath for this one as he is slightly better on the ball?.

If you were there you were there ....a fantastic day One thing that sticks out is their last goal - Butland standing there doing absolutely nothing. All 3 of our current keepers would of come off their line and cleared that.

I'm not knocking him, he's 'got something' for sure. A certain trickiness. We just need get it out of him.

Jeez mate A 4 goal away win with a fantastic following and carnage when we scored those last two goals especially the 4th 2 minutes after the 3rd and you’ve chosen to concentrate on the goal they scored from a player whose no longer here as the thing that sticks out 🤷♂️

The games as a whole was a breath of fresh air because of the energy we played with (better?)

Good point mate, I can't actually remember. He runs at people with the ball and that's so weird to see that I filed it under "pacy lad" without any more thought.

I'm hoping MON's cadence is first 2 thirds cautious and gung-ho in the final third of the season once safety is all but guaranteed. We could be on for the play offs! Here's hoping.

They’re flying. Draw no good to either team. Winner has a genuine shot at play offs. Neither Barnsley or Stoke are good enough to go up. A half decent Prem side would have put 6 against Luton today. Of course but is about getting out of the league. Hardly going to field the same side in the Prem. Both have a chance of play offs as do a fair few sides as plenty of points to play for 4 points off play offs with so many games left, nonsense to write either off. We've picked up 6 points in a matter of days so hardly a mammoth task
