Disappointed beyond words. We are in range of top 6 but we need more quality and alot more desire. As of now top 6 looks so far away but we simply have to keep believing. Don't expect top 6 this year, still see it as rebuilding. But that second half was utter shite. The first wasn't great but we were competitive and got ourselves into positions to shoot. If we played the second the same way and still lost I wouldn't be quite as grumpy as I am right now. Not saying the first was great, mind.

I should listen to my brain more. My heart said 0-0, but ...

Right then Cobham please tell me what Gunn should have done better here🤔 He just sets himself late. It’s like the Norwich first goal that Bursik let in. He sets himself and then dives at this point below. The ball is by the Barnsley player who looks offside. Now I’m not sure if it’s bad goalkeeping or just a good early hit tbh. But my first thought was he took a step to the right that he didn’t need to. He didn’t, he was just late on setting himself and couldn’t take off. Was that down to being slow to get to where he was or good player in shooting early? I’m not sure. He seems to take a step to his right in order to see the ball around the retreating offside player. He's then late in commiting/can't commit to a dive until the ball has passed said player. If VAR is used then it's likely disallowed (I'd be fookin fuming if I was a Barnsley fan and it was chalked off BTW). Gunn doesn't inspire me with confidence but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one - and it was a quality strike!

Did he even touch the ball? Totally ineffective! Doesn't matter who was up top what actual service did any of them get Several good chances were missed including by Fletcher, Powell and Batth.

Barnsley look a decent little side, I'm actually pleased for them, they have more about them than many of the more fashionable so called bigger clubs in the league.

Right then Cobham please tell me what Gunn should have done better here🤔 Not a lot he could do other than not make the half step to his right before needing to dive to his left but the swerve on the ball has probably caused that. Had he not taken that half step, he gets to push off better, stretch further and save it. Not his fault in my opinion. Far worse is the attempt by Brown to get out to block the ball, if you can call it an attempt. However, for the 2nd goal (and the disallowed goal) Gunn is really poor. It looks bad because it looks like he's not brave enough but its simply his feet not moving how they should to get in into a position to make it more difficult for the striker to score. He's not fully fit, clearly and he shouldn't be playing. EDIT - just seen the 2nd goal again and it's poor from Gunn but what the hell is Souttar doing? I've seen a number of players being slaughtered for tonight and I've criticised a few myself but Souttar once again escapes. He wasn't great himself tonight despite having next to no defending to do all game. This is a perfect summary from Dave. Wasnt a glaring mistake he just didn’t appear set and was almost rooted to the spot didn’t appear to dive till it was too late. From reading the feedback I wasn’t the only one to think this so there must be some substance to it. I just don’t think he’s our best option of the 3. He gives me the same jitters that Butland did over his last 2 seasons. I’m not the other 2 don’t have mistakes in them but they just seem more composed whereas Gunn always looks nervous or at least has done since returning. Maybe it is because he’s injured.

His ability under a high ball, defensive organisation and distribution worry me more than not saving a worldy. Time to bring Davies back for me, had a great relationship with the back line before injury and that’s arguably a keepers most important role.

Right then Cobham please tell me what Gunn should have done better here🤔 Gunn hasn't done loads wrong. But it's utter madness to be playing a keeper who will be leaving the club in May ahead of two brilliant, highly rated and frankly better keepers that the club own. It just makes zero sense. But it's utter madness to be playing a keeper who will be leaving the club in May. Gunn is here for the remainder of this season, plus all of next season.

The wonder goal shouldnt have stood as a Barnsley player is stood in Gunns line of vision and is Offside. However not one our players appealed for the offside which is woeful and shows the lack of leadership on the pitch especially from the Captain a certain Obi Mikel. Another reason why he should be nowhere near the pitch.
