Talking of which. I see his first game back available is v Luton. Be interesting to see what MON does there. I’m pretty sure most fans would choose him over Fox but the fact we’ve had 12 clean sheets from the 20 games Fox has played won’t be overlooked by the manager thats for sure.

I'd play him over McClean wide left all day long, I think that's what he'll do to be honest.....

I agree they probably would but I'm not sure why. Fox is a much better defender and crosses better. RND drives with the ball better. But it's not even close imo, Fox at the moment is the better left back.

I agree with Bayern, for me RND had an impressive debut, but since then has looked no better than Fox..For me Fox is the better overall option at present.

I think RND is much more dynamic than Fox, is more mobile and offers better going forward. Fox hasn't done anything wrong though and has done well of late now he's settled into that orthodox LB position. Early days for RND he only played in 2.5. Souttar and Chester basically screwed it up for him v Huddersfield with their horrific defending. I know he's very highly though of as SUFC and alot of fans think he's their best left back. Fan's do tend to prefer the players who are not currently playing though as we well know.

I think he's been naive generally tbh. Was it Watford where he was lucky not give away a penalty as well? I think he's been ok at best defensively. Fox is easily the better option at the moment.

RND is a more modern version of a left back as he is much better than Fox going forward. He also possesses more pace and is better one on one. RND for me is the clear choice when both of them are fit or able to play, but Fox is certainly a decent player too.

He is a more modern version but he isn't our player, it doesn't look like he probably will be a player we own in the near future, Fox is a much better defender and Fox's crossing is better. I just don't see the point in playing RND to be honest.

Don't mind him defensively either, but Fox is my first choice, as it will be MON's I think.

Hang on a minute, are we saying we've got *two* decent left backs on the books?
Just when you thought Earth 20/21 couldn't get any more surreal

He has the energy, pace and defensive qualities that are are needed in that position. I actually think he is much more suited to playing in that position than McClean. I'd also prefer him to Fox at left back just because I think he has more of what we need in a fullback.

Depends how you want your full-backs I suppose. First and foremost, I want mine to defend, stop the opposition winger and stop crosses coming into the box.
On that basis, I prefer Fox to Nozzer. I get why others would prefer it the other way around. Nozzer was great on debut and I think a big part of that was that Powell didn't get in his way and by playing inside, gave Nozzer the space to move forward. With Mclean in front of him (was it Watford and Huddersfield), he was less impressive, didn't get forward in the same way, probably because Mclean hogged the space he would prefer to run into.

This is not about what is wrong or right, but what you prefer in a left back.
