RIP Sir Tom You deserve a state funeral. The world will be a sadder place without you. That is a hell of a good call.

I'm glad we heard about him -an inspiration to us all at a bleak time
I'm glad he stepped up -given his life and service, he didnt need to, he could have sat back and said 'ive done my bit'
I'm pleased he reached a century
I'm pleased that he met the Queen and was Knighted for his services
I'm honoured to have read about his life. His family will quite rightly be very proud

"Tomorrow will be a better day"...
His 100th year might well have been the most difficult in his entire life yet he remained positive and always seemed very content
Sleep well sir

He seemed to be a very humble, down to earth guy and appeared genuinely amazed that he was such an inspiration to most of the country in such a difficult time. Many well deserved tributes for a true modern day icon.

Such a shame, a proper legend in his own right i'm also glad he received his honours while still alive. I know he didn't do what he did for anything other than noble intentions where some people these days do stuff for a few quick likes or 10mins of internet fame. He was a genuine guy!
What i find absolutely saddening though is a. the amount of jokes iv seen bounced around offering his walking frame for sale etc or worse all the conspiracy nuts are out in force saying he was part of a cabal and some deep underground network etc etc. These people want to give their heads a wobble.

Is it only Millwall out of tonight’s games paid a tribute to Sir Tom Typical no tribute to such a man, I did ask admin. on here to pin this on the main board so all could see and participate in sending their condolences but for some reason it has fallen on deaf ears absolutely shocking and very disappointing, I note again that a lot of the more vocal and prolific posters have failed to commemorate the death of a true English solider and gentleman.

Great documentary on a great man. Such a shame that so many on Twitter are using it to point score politically. Very sad and whatever your party totally unnecessary.

Great documentary on a great man. Such a shame that so many on Twitter are using it to point score politically. Very sad and whatever your party totally unnecessary. There are some right scum bags on twitter some of them post on this board, the abuse Sir Tom and his family is typical of these pond dwellers. Very sad. I’d imagine that a lot comes down to jealousy of a man that’s genuinly made a difference and bought hope and happiness in what is the most difficult of times. Sadly in these strange times with social media there will always be people around who will look for the worst in the greatest of achievements if it doesn’t fit their agenda. Sometimes people just need to put politics aside and recognise someone who’s done something truly great.
