Not sure did he hang around with Dizzy? Remember Timmy Edwards? They sound familiar, but without photos Im crap. I spent most of my Wagon days off my face on purple nasties and green meanies! I had a meanie in the rigger the other week and Im at a loss to remember how I used to drink that shit.

Longton's sound, Was Wazz's market in Longton or Fenton ??? Neither, I think that area is Adderley Green, where the old PMT Bus Depot was, top end of Bentilee, start of Anchor Road, near the Gasometer. Or Piggy's house, as we called it as kids....Don't ask, just don't ask....

Same goes for Sandford Hill, Saxonfields, Meir Hay. I think Bentilee starts somewhere between those monstrous flats and the waggy nun osses. Makes me wonder where Parkhall is classed as.

Is this all laid down somewhere or is it your opinion? Bentilee does start from the Waggin, which is only a few hundred yards from where I remember Wass's market being, which was pretty close to where Mossfield Pit used to be.

Adderley Green is definitely Longton but noy sure where Mossfield would be classed as - I would say the market was there.

Have to say I have reading this thread as it bought back so many memories of my time living in Sandford Hill in the early 70's. I remember hanging around the bus station in Longton, the market and its distinctive smells, Evans Sports shop where I got my first glimpse of the Stoke kit with the black collar. Sliding down Park Hall Hills on car bonnets with my cousins. Hanging around Safari Lake as it was then. My 1st disco at Longton Town Hall. So thank you all for making me remember things I thought I'd forgotten

Was safari park by the gasometer?
The things I remember about Longton are below, in no particular order;
The old bus station - smokey and dingy, kinda like 'on the buses' Jollees above it Under the arches Heathcote street school - bulldozered for the a50. Chancery grill The old co-op furniture shop. The strange man who sold toys in longton market - he looked like fred Harris The Waterloo pub - the smokiest pub I ever walked in to. The shops above the shops in the middle of the precinct. The old post office Liptons - where iceland now resides Cee n' cee - some strange supermarket which then became Jomens. Steeles arcade - lost many a quid in there. Burgess cake shop - next to barclays bank
And my favourite thing as a kid, the old town centre map by the midland bank that used to light up various places when you pressed the buttons. It always fascinated me as a kid. I often wonder where it went. As I recall it was a big yellow contraption.
