Newport’s keeper scored tonight. From a goal kick Not sure that’s ever been done before Tottenham goalkeeper Pat Jennings famously scored in the 1967 Charity Shield, from his own area, kicking the ball from his hands and sending a long punt down the field that bounced over Manchester United goalkeeper Alex Stepney and into the net. There must be many other examples of similar goals, and in fact I thought Begovic did it once for Stoke. Edit. Yes got it. In November 2013, Begović became the fifth goalkeeper to score a goal in the Premier League, scoring from 97.5 yards (89.15 meters) against Southampton after 13 seconds, also getting the World Record for 'longest goal scored in football.'

Presume we want Norwich to beat bristol tonight? Excluding tonight, 13 of their 15 wins this season have been by a single goal margin. They’re hardly blowing teams away but it seems they’re doing just enough.

Them winning all the time, particularly against teams around us in the play-off chase, is probably best for us isn't it?

My question being "are Norwich so far ahead of us now that we don't need to concern ourselves with their results. Them winning all the time, particularly against teams around us in the play-off chase, is probably best for us isn't it? I’d say so. They’re creeping further ahead and there’s no chance we’ll make up 16pts on them (as things stand). Our best chance is sneaking into 6th and I’m not confident we can do that.
