I think it was more the fact we let a home-grown, promising but largely untested young wide player who might have made a modest contribution to the first team go, and then signed about six promising but largely untested young wide players who have made - let’s be generous - modest contributions to the first team. And most of them aren’t ours, and one of them is slap bang in the middle of a long-term injury. You don’t have to think Verlinden is the new George Best to question that strategy. Verlinden isn’t fit to lace Clyde best’s boots let alone George best Clyde Best was a cracking player.

And most of them aren’t ours, and one of them is slap bang in the middle of a long-term injury. You don’t have to think Verlinden is the new George Best to question that strategy. I think it's fair to say that Clarke's made a positive contribution and has a CV that suggests he's a much better player than Verlinden. Matondo's been rubbish, but you can see why we gambled on him. MON had clearly already made his mind up that Verlinden wasn't going to make it here, the same as every other manager we've had who's watched him close up. Clarke should be a major upgrade compared to Verlinden on paper and on all evidence to date. 25 games in a reasonably successful Championship side Voted Young Player of the Season in a youthful Leeds team including players who are now playing for England £10m fee from a top Premiership side Its a decent CV, something which Verlinden is no where near achieving so far. I always thought Verlinden looked a reasonable prospect but we don't what he does or doesn't do on the training ground?

Hint that he may get a chance alongside Fletcher before the end of the season instead of Brown - and also that the back three will be in place for a while, by the looks of it www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-rabbi-matondo-loan-5263872“It’s a little bit difficult at the minute because we’re not playing with wingers and we maybe have to look at him as an option through the middle as well. He did play there for Schalke.

We’ll need to re-sign Moses if we’re going to get the best out of Rabbi.

Is Brown available today as his thigh was strapped with ice on Friday after the game ?

Is Brown available today as his thigh was strapped with ice on Friday after the game ? Let’s hope not. Biggest problem of this season is MON bigs him up cos he signed him. He won’t play when a crowd gets back in the Bet 365.

If he was worth €11.5M then Brown is worth €50M. He has absolutely no conviction on the ball and just tries to run round or through people. Utter utter garbage

He’s nowhere near ready for any kind of senior football from what he’s shown here so far. I know he’s a young lad and has ages to improve but he’s Brek Shea/Gerry McMahon/Peter Kopteff failing to beat the plumber at right back for Tamworth so far.

This guy couldn't beat an egg. He is miles away from this level of football. How on earth anyone paid multi millions for him just beggars belief. So watch now for us paying £9M to keep him to put on the shelf with our other host of total wastes of money. Joke management.

He's young and probably low on confidence and in that respect I feel for the lad but he's not some wet behind the ears kid on tuppence ha'penny to take a chance on, he's on decent money so there's zero chance of this loan becoming permanent. Sooner he returns to Shalke the better for all concerned.....
