Apparently, with less than half the season played and us sitting just below the play offs, the Forest game is a must win.
Someone has had their eggnog spiked.

Why do people continue to put Verlinden in their teams. He clearly won't figure in the match day squad when all return from injury. I would expect when all are fit, Mikel, Clucas and Allen will be the midfield 3, not saying I agree with that, but I think it would be MON's preferred midfield. Verlinden is popular because he has never really played. Its much easier to be popular when are not playing, than when you are playing. Verlinden may be great, we wont know until he is given a chance, but he's totally untried at this level so far.

Im sick to death of talking about Joe Allen to be honest, the manager rates him highly just like the rest of the managers he’s had end of.O’Neill makes the decisions and he’ll do what is right by playing him when fit which is spot on Yeh agree with that but apologies I was talking about Chester and how his form has changed. Ok mate no problem 👍

We’ve dropped so many points in these last 4 weeks that it has become it with the fixtures that are coming up. We’ve had an easy run and cocked it up really.

If it’s not working he’ll change it. Hopefully he’ll make it work.

I don't get the anti Thompson brigade, he has potential I think to develop into a very tidy player. I like the recent addition to his game, with late runs into the box. Yes he should have scored yesterday, but is increasingly starting to make those forward runs now..very useful player.. I agree. It is unfortunate that so many seem to have a downer on young talents like Thompson, Brown, Tymon, Edwards, and others. It is rare for a young footballers development to be on a constant rising curve, or to start at a very high standard and continuously sustain it. It is far more common to have ups and downs in development and form and so much depends on circumstances. Souttar has had a lengthy apprentice period playing regularly at a lower level, which has clearly aided his development, hopefully the same occurs with those currently out on loan. It is rare for a young player like Collins and Bursak to go straight into a team and perform continuously well, but in their case they are clearly exceptionally talented. I feel particularly for Tymon, a hugely talented youngster at Hull, who played for England at two junior levels, but then joined a club in free fall, with major dressing room problems with some undesirable characters, and managers who had no time for youngsters, and when he had nightmare matches, supporters who want him crucified. Fortunately we now have a manager who has patience with young talent, will gradually develop them, and no patience with those players not interested in the fortunes of the club, just themselves.

Bursik Collins Chester Souttar Tymon Allen Cousins Ince Powell Mclean Fletch
I think he'll have to start 2 of Mclean, Clucas or Tymon to change anything up.
I also think he'll give Ince another chance on the right.

I think he will benefit from a period of starting some games and coming of the bench for others needs to managed slowly as he makes the step up to first team regular but i am confident he will.

The odd glimpse at this level he hasn't shown much at all, fair enough not many but the manager sees him every day.

You can see a Stoke fan special brewing here can't you. Verlinden stood out in the miserly 10 minutes he got at QPR but unless he instantly tears it up when he does get his chance he'll get slated, despite the mediocrity that has gone before. Trenches have been dug

Anyone but Thompson in the side and I'll be happy, but we really need to start being more adventurous if we do have any ambition to be top six.

Harsh on Thompson but agree re ambition but with what we've had available it's impressive that we've hung in there. Hopefully with a few back we can do just that and maybe add one or two in January. Were only 4 points I think off second and with the injuries a great effort. No doubt some will go on and on about Verlinden as usual but until he earns a place and proves himself like Campbell did is all guess work based on nothing

In that time we've also seen Cousins step up and make one of the midfield positions his own effectively gaining a player having been written off already. I think with a few more chances taken by the manager we'd have more points than we do now.

Whether Verlinden should start or not is a matter of opinion, the fact he's been given just 8 minutes amidst the worst injury crisis in a generation in a team that can't score goals is really difficult to understand. Or speaks volumes?

I think he did the right thing at Coventry and we were hanging on v Blackburn. No one could foresee the injuries and with no window open yet we perhaps don't have certain players. Clucas and Allen will add a great deal up and all over the pitch for sure but we need a new face but we've become a solid side after years of being soft centered and a push over.
