Because in the PSG game the fourth official was asked which player etc ....he could have pointed to a group of two white players and one black player ...and said the black one Why would he need to do that? Why not walk right up to the man in question and single him out without at any point mentioning his race? Really? I mean if this is what it is then it sounds like a bit of a nonsense.

I mean if this is what it is then it sounds like a bit of a nonsense. If this is correct then the world has gone mad. Not to degrade any kind of malicious or intended racism which is completely unacceptable, but it would appear that we have turned into a society which is constantly looking to take offence and create division. That is not the way to sort out the real shadow of racism and actually undermines the attempts to do so.

As a non white person, I will not feel annoyed if someone who doesn't know my name called me the "black guy" especially when he has a language barrier problem, being black is not something shameful, racism happens everyday and everywhere and we have to stand together against racism but oversensitivity is not the way to stand against racism. We are not sure yet about what exactly he said, but according to initial reports he said "the black guy" and English is not his primary language. If he said "negro" so it is a different story and yes it is pure racism. Seriously..if two people one white and one black were coming towards you one with a baseball bat in hand ...and I said to you which one is carrying the bat ..without pointing what would your answer be ..... mine would be either the white bloke or the black bloke ....am I racist for saying that I would say “ the black guy” Or “ not the white guy” It rude to point I was taught I would say “ the black guy” All the black guys I know would expect this, as they would say the white guy..!!!!!! We are well and truely fucked up..!!!!

Why would he need to do that? Why not walk right up to the man in question and single him out without at any point mentioning his race? Because it would be so much it easier to just say who it is than fucking about walking round the pitch. Christ is this what it’s come to ? Exactly, that's the point ... say who it was. Which individual (and that's the important bit) was it? For example, was it a) Harry Kane or b) Dominic Calvert-Lewin The answer is clearly not ... "the black one" is it? The officials are earning big bucks here and if I was a part of the officiating team of a match and did not know the names of those individuals I was officiating, then quite frankly, I'd be taking the piss out of the job I was employed to do.

Like a previous poster I had drafted a lengthier reply but decided to delete it because, frankly, I don't want to get into a detailed argument on this subject and have to waste time justifying my position to people who think differently. I will wait for the facts to emerge rather than stoke the fire with my opinions on hypotheticals ( **** me,I sound like a politician now!) Suffice to say, I think your expectations are too high.

If it’s any consolation I didn’t see what you put as particularly upsetting or arrogant. I think it’s a sign of the times that anything now can be challenged. We’re in a society now where the best thing is to say nothing and do as your told.

The liner was Romanian and said negrito or summat, which is Romanian for black* this is off twitter explanation from some random Romanian. If true, then this is being blown out of all proportion.

It's a clear case of misinterpretation rather than blown out of proportion. The 4th Official would not have meant it racially. Demba Ba assumed the word he used was, which sounds similar to the racist word.

Big bucks ? I just googled its between £700 and £5500 per game, it wasn't a player it was one of 8 Istanbul coaches according to John Barnes the other 7 are Turkish. I can understand why the coach and Ba were angry after hearing what they thought he said but it seems clumsy at worst and no ill intent by the asst referee but he's an easy target for uefa to show how tough they are on racism so I imagine thats his last champions league game.
