In his interview MON seemed quite impressed by his performance. Ridiculous. It was Bamber-esque.

Campbell and Powell were both playing, so who plays in place of Vokes, not trying to be funny, but who else have we got that can play in that role ??

So many times we hear - “no point being on the pitch” “waste of space”... well, it’s not, if you’ve got no one else to fill the space and if we starting with 10 men (don’t think it’s even allowed) but as some stoke fans desire to be the starting preference, then that would in actually fact leave a massive waste of space of a position for the opposition to run in to.

You want to replace Vokes with Campbell and Powell who were both playing anyway but maybe one of them in a formation that involves both of them but with Powell as the up top striker? 🤔

So you suggest we should just play 10 men from the kick off (you’ve kinda suggested this before too) because Vokes is a waste of space, and so therefore if we did play 10 men you would allow for a literal ‘waste of space’ instead of at least a body to sit in that waste of space?

He may have retired and just forgot to tell anybody.
They is no way Sean Dyche would have allowed that work rate and fitness level.

His legs have gone due to his age. That’s what happens. Only a matter of time until it happens to Fetch. We need a couple of strikers asap.

£9m just let that sink in £9 fcuking million pounds FFS sake nothing wrong with the process it's a disgrace. Thats what comes from trusting your manager, like we did with Hughes and Rowett. Nutty Nath was manager when we signed this lump of lard young, fast, athletic, hungry players first signing Fat Sam Vokes second Danny Batth third Stephen Ward

I do, he missed a sitter in the first half and another chance later in the half. And offered next to nothing elsewhere Elsewhere.... he did his job. The dirty work for the young creative players like brown etc. Sorry I just don’t agree. He was poor at that too

We could really do with taking a punt on a young striker from the lower leagues/Scotland to try and develop and look to the future beyond Fletcher etc.

Does seem very pedestrian, only thing I can imagine is the possible threat in the air is a distraction to defenders and maybe gives others a yard of space. But he ain't no Fletcher for sure.

Oh look, here's Vokes dragging the entire Wycombe defence to the near post to give Powell enough free real estate to build a house on. He chose to score the winner instead. Attachment Deleted

Vokes is a useless plodder . Not according to MON He is praised by our manager in the postmatch interview 'he gave us a presence up top and helped us link the game" Deep down the manager knows Vokes is shite. He’s his last choice centre forward. With the injury situation at the moment we need him and he’s unlikely to dig him out in the post match interview.

He’s his last choice centre forward. With the injury situation at the moment we need him and he’s unlikely to dig him out in the post match interview. But he doesn't have to pick him out for special praise either, he wasn't asked specifically about Vokes, I think we have to come to terms with the fact that the manager genuinely believes this however painful that may be.
