I don't think it was the worst game I've ever watched.
The 0-0 boxing day game against Villa, which Sky chose to put on in the evening so that not a single player, staff member or spectator wanted to be there, was atrocious.
The 0-0 home draw with Watford, where the ball was only in play for 30 minutes because Watford players spent 45 minutes receiving treatment for injuries, was also much worse, due in part to the behaviour of Watford's players.

Collins apart we were extremely poor at taking opposition on, not driving forward, too many passes going backwards, though understandable as too many of our players passing was atrocious!! They actually get paid for that performance, far too pedestrian all over the pitch again Collins aside....

These people saying it is the worst game of football they have ever seen, mustn't have seen many games. Just a bandwagon.

Another Boxing day 0-0 v Bolton at the Brit in Championship days under Tone, also snowy weather. I drove in treacherous weather to waste my Xmas. Memorable for the wrong reasons

If not, there’s a third turgid Boxing Day affair

Yes, that was the worst game I've ever seen. As you said, it was freezing cold as well.
