Great interview, For all you people in fairyland - watch this. To all those complaining about ‘negative’ football - watch this. For all those disappointed that we haven’t signed more Nzonzis / bojans etc - watch this. Time to get realistic, we’ve got a really good manager that is doing a stellar job under the circumstances.

I agree. Reading between the lines, he is not optimistic about getting a striker in that meets with his approval, and I thought there was just a hint of a young player being promoted into the squad.

Didn't pick up on the younger player being promoted into the squad if I am honest 😮

He’s right to be furious.
Im assuming it’s Mikel he’s making reference to not challenging for second balls.

You just hope he's at least slightly furious at himself as well.

Pretty clear again this is a long-term project as FFP constrains our actions. We didn’t intend to spend in the last window so seen as too risky to gamble on a top 6 slot. His job is to build, find cheaper young players so that in summer 2022, we can invest in the quality to complement the young squad at that point. Only ways it might happen faster are either the loan players earn deals or we sell one or two Crown Jewels.

Interesting how one of his first comments was about getting players out to stop the impact of an unhappy dressing room.

Morgan Fox is a huge, huge bonus and hopefully stops the manager having to revert to a back 5.

Interesting how one of his first comments was about getting players out to stop the impact of an unhappy dressing room. This has been a major problem for some time and having a huge squad of players not playing regularly is a recipe for disaster at any football club. It useful to remember this when folk complain about players going out and not coming in (alongside all the other factors inc. financial issues, availability of decent players etc, etc) The manager has alluded to this several times since he's been here. Huge job for any manager. Rowett, Jones and Lambert failed to manage it. They all mentioned the same. Huge rebuilding project imho.

Had to chuckle when I read what MON said about Nosser-Davies and I quote, " He'll have a real fight on his hands, to get back into the side," after he's served his 3 match suspension. Fuck me!! He's should be the first name on the team sheet. The bloke has been a revelation.

Funny that no one noticed the "fox has recovered sooner than we had hoped" quote from MON 😂😂 I guess he's just that bad.

Fox has performed well for us and pre-injury, was absolutely one of our better players. He'd even started to create some goals.

I'm not too pleased with how unbalanced he looks. Not great going forward, relatively poor crossing, still lots of problems down the left. Missing for a few goals, and clumsy fouls. Saying that he's partnered with Chester. The pace of our back 4 with fox Chester souttar and Collins is terrible. He's so far behind N. Davies too. Still anything is better then McClean (queue a back 5 tomorrow with McClean)

I like fox but he is a limited player and nowhere near as bad as some people make out. But out of the 2 there is no comparison

The problem remains the players he has added have contributed very very little in terms of improvement dampening expectation is fine but there is little evidence they know how to. Recruit for a winning team

Well he’s wrong and that’s. Huge worry going forwards Brown May b3 a forward but at one or two levels below where we are now . oneils recruitment suggests he’s not the man to get us promoted and certainly he’s not got a track record in promotion in amy League in England.

He's should be the first name on the team sheet. The bloke has been a revelation. Players are - nearly - always over eager to impress when they first arrive. Let's judge him when he's played half a season for us. Fox on the other hand was more fearful of making mistakes in his first few games, so he was over careful. He might have picked up a little as the season went on before his injury, but the only way that I can explain his sudden popularity is how absence makes the heart grow fonder. When a player is out for a prolonged time and there appears to be no one ready to step in instead, said player sometimes becomes a hard miss.

Since Stoke is the only English club he's managed, how would you expect him to have a track record...?
