As the championship settles down a little It's not a bad time to muse over who will be there at the end. I am sticking with my start of season thoughts and go with 1) Norwich 2) Watford 3) Brentford 4) Swansea 4) Bournemouth 5) Stoke
Others may be close Reading....... Defensively woeful mid table Bristol City.. Not convinced by them. 3 wins on the trot have put them up there but apart from ourselves all their wins have been against bottom half teams Middlesboro...Will be close and might bore their way to sneak into the playoffs but won't score the required 70+ goals for top 6 Millwall..... Rowett is the master of the drawn game (as we well know). Already drawn 5 this season. You simply have to win minimum 20 they won't I know someone often come from nowhere to get into the playoffs. But I am struggling to see who that might be this season. Anyone know where I might be able to have $1 bet on my top six?

Do you expect them to have same points, same gd and same goals scored?

I’m going for Bournemouth and Stoke for automatic promotion with Middlesbrough, Norwich, Brentford and Swansea for the playoffs.

Watford Norwich Bournemouth Swansea Brentford Middlesbrough
Would be my guess, with us finishing around 10th. Cardiff and Blackburn could also be there or thereabouts.

I think you've got all the right teams, not necessarily in the right order.

Only 6 points separating 1st from 11th.
I think it will be an endurance test and a battle of collective wills as much as anything.
With no crowd you need self starting players able to get up for every game and keep doing it every 3 or 4 days for 8 long months.
Have we got what it takes, not sure...?

1) Norwich 2) Watford 3) Brentford 4) Swansea 5) Middlesbrough 6) Bournemouth
We'll be in and around there with the squad depth we have, but I think we are still very much a work in progress - top 10 at least.

Serious error by me and you for not spotting it. As for the joint 4th, last night I had just that dream of Swansea and Bournemouth having all their stats equal at the end of the season even red and yellow cards and shots on target. Bookies have offered me 10,000 to 1 odds on that stat so I have taken out a second mortgage on my Florida condo.

I’m still tipping Coventry as dark horses. If I keep saying it every season, it’ll come true at some point.

Boro to go up Warnock has them making steady progress & very hard to beat. Hughton will get Forest firing in the second half of the season & i see them making a late charge to claim promotion. The play offs is anybodys who can put a decent run together at the right time.

In no particular order: Swansea. Norwich. Bristol City. Watford. Bournemouth. Stoke City.
I think Bristol's time has come. I reckon they'll go up this season.

Haven't seen much to change the pre-season consensus as it's all so tight - although Warnock seems to have done a slightly surprising and very impressive job in making Boro a bugger to play (and score) against, and I'd be surprised if they don't sneak into the top 6.
I was sceptical about Swansea, but they look very good again - and are one of the few genuinely impressive teams I've seen.
Looks like all the relegated teams will be very competitive, and up there, but maybe Norwich look the most ominous.
Think we may just miss out although it's nice to think we've got a chance. MON seems to be a pragmatic points hoover, although I've been a touch disappointed with our play.
I'll have a punt at:
Norwich Brentford Swansea Bournemouth Boro Blackburn

If anyone finishes above Watford they'll be champions, personally, I think Watford will piss it. Then its anyones guess for second place. We will go up in the Play-Offs and it'll be the first match where fans are allowed back in..... If Carlsberg did days out

If Carlsberg did days out Agree with you that Watford look a class above anything else I've seen in the Championship this season, but we've got a decent squad, which matters more than ever before with the short summer break and the crazy fixture congestion, so I reckon we'll be right in the mix for the second automatic spot....as for the others in the mix, I couldn't give a monkey's tbh, but no doubt Swansea, Brentford and Bournemouth will be there or there abouts

I hope I’m wrong, but I think we will fall just short of the playoffs. If this means that we have a solid foundation for a right old go next year then fine by me.

If we can maintain our improvement by only a slight amount then I dont see why we cannot make top 6. I was impressed with Swansea against us, as much as we were poor on the night I thought they were pretty good. I agree with peoples thoughts on Boro, the evidence is there for all to see that Warnock is grinding out results. And again consistent with a lot of thoughts the 3 relegated teams seem to have adjusted reasonably well. So I will go for: 1 - Norwich 2 - Swansea 3 - Watford 4 - Bournemouth 5 - Boro 6 - Stoke The fact that where we were 12 months ago we can now even contemplate being anywhere near the top 6 just emphasises just what an excellent job MON and his team have done, "evolution, not revolution" springs to mind. Fingers crossed our improvement continues and we can return to the ground with something exciting to play for when we get back to some kind of normal. Watching on the box just isnt the same

Its just as it was last season with anyone beating anyone else week in week out
Main différence this year is that we actually have a decent team before the injured midfield come back
I would expect us to be top 6 at this rate
