We need to start the way we did against Watford and seize the initiative.
Reading have lost their last 2 and we need to dent their confidence early.

3 at the back for this one I reckon:
Gunn
Collins Souttar Fox
Smith Mikel Thompson McClean
Campbell Fletcher Powell

Why are Reading doing so well? (apart from the last two games)

Same team, replace Thompson for Boothe and Batth for Collins if he's fit.

Can anyone genuinely say that they've seen enough of TOB to suggest he's ready to start? (Or is this just one of those 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' selections in which a player's standing mysteriously rises when he's not playing? (We're all guilty !)

I actually thought TOB should have come on for Powell. He gets around the pitch quicker than Cousins and can carry and keep hold of the ball.

I'd prefer TOB as a sub for the wings as he has got pace and good skills on the ball. I think he is a better option than Brown actually.

I'd agree with that, but if the objective was to shore up the midfield / defence, we can hardly criticise M0N for bringing on Cousins in the final ten minutes (which, after all, is his job).

Why are Reading doing so well? (apart from the last two games) Joao scores the goals..9 so far. 6 in 8 in league...pacy forwards who will take a man on and shoot. Maybe a false dawn with some big wins.

Why are Reading doing so well? (apart from the last two games) Is it a question of who they've played already? Have they had a relatively easy start? I genuinely don't know but take our recent away matches... Swansea, Watford and now Reading all in the space of a few weeks. I'm looking forward to Wycombe or Coventry for what its worth.

I’d be surprised if it’s anything other than the same side that played Watford. TOB may play but unlikely, Brown may play but again didn’t really do himself any favours vs Watford, Tymon seems to have fallen out of favour and Ince hasn’t been in favour
I’m presuming Chester, Collins, Clucas, Allen and Verlinden are all still out?

14-16th tomorrow night would make it a pretty a miserable first quarter of the season a lot riding on tomorrow sneak a result and the staus quo remains , lose and others below us win and you’d expect a tactical rethink over the break and a few prayer mats for Allen , clucas , Shawcross all of whom fit and firing improve the first eleven .

Smells 0-0 all over the place. Reading won't lose another game in a row and we will have trouble getting a single shot on goal. But defensively, with 5 at the back constantly, we'll manage to get a point.

Only been to their stadium once and was quite impressed - more leg room than ours. One of the good things about behind closed doors games is that, presumably, we will be spared that incessant monotonous drum that seriously pissed me off when I was there. Every cloud has a silver lining! Come on you mighty Potters, let's put Watford behind us.

No idea how this one is going to go. Having said that we rarely lose two games in a row under MON.
I draw wouldnt be disastrous, but a win would keep us in the pack for play-offs.
