Gunn 6, started a bit shaky, but improved as the game went on.
Souttar 7, solid! Batth 7, solid! Fox 7, solid!
Smith 6, OK, but nothing more. McClean 7, worked ever so hard and scored the only goal of the game.
Mikel 7, has started to show his class on the ball lately. Thompson 7, solid again. Powell 6, I expect more end product from him.
Campbell 6, thought he wasted a lot of good opportunities today by making the wrong decision. Fletcher 6, nothing more than decent today.
Cousins 6, did what was expected of him. Brown 6, better as a sub.

Gunn 6 - nothing to do, improved as the game progressed
Souttar 7 - clean sheet and seems to be improving as the games go Batth 7 - another clean sheet with Batth in the side Fox 6 - looked shaky but a clean sheet
Smith 6 - didn't really do anything McClean 7 - scored and worked hard but poor crossing at times Mikel 7 - a true professional Thompson 6 - starting to improve and looked solid with Mikel Powell 6 - played alright but didn't move out of 3rd gear
Campbell 5 - should have scored at least one and showed poor decision making Fletcher 6 - didn't exactly play well but is an improvement of Vokes

Gunn 7 Did nothing wrong and got the assist!
Smith 6 OK, nothing more Souttar 7 Did his defensive work well. Batth 7 Dodgy moment at the end but otherwise OK. Fox 6 Shaky early on but improved.
Mikel 7 Very steady performance Thompson 6 Typical game from him- not much impact but OK
Campbell 6 Had a good first half but no end product Powell 7 Won us a lot of free kicks. Main outlet. McClean 7 Grabbed the goal and worked hard.
Fletcher 6 Didn't quite happen for him
subs:
Cousins 5 Came on and gav away a daft free-kick Brown 6 Plenty of energy when he came on TOB 6 Only on for a few minutes

Gunn: 6 (one error, one good cover of Batth and Souttar from a Lindsay ball through) Smith: 6. More comfortable at right back Souttar: 7. Won everything in the air Batth 7: same as above Fox: 6.5. Was done once or twice but often seemed to recover and make a tackle in the same play Thompson: 6.5. Decent outing Mikel: 8. Best game. Good in possession, knows how to close the ball down and cover his angles. Doesn’t get shrugged off the ball. Powell: 7. Decent work rate, decent on the ball without an end product Campbell: 6.5. Very good first half, a bit pants in the second. McClean: 7.5. Good goal, poor crosses, great covering for Fox, some nice link up play with Fletcher and Powell. Fletcher: 7. Didn’t really get a chance in front of goal. Did well as a target man/linking up play/ running of their unbelievably slow defence.

I’m convinced he just does it for the attention to be honest, it’s just a silly score for the sake of being silly Rotherham are absolute relegation fodder. We have scraped a one nil win at home having only mustered 3 shots on target in 90 mins whilst also only having 45% possession. Do you honestly think anyone deserves over 5?

Gunn 7 no saves to make couple of bits of miscommunication
Souttar 8 very good game Batth 7 communication with gunn could of been better steady enough though Fox 7 makes his own life hard by bad positioning recovered well to make amends
Smith 6 offered little going forward steady defensively McClean 6 scored ran around alot gave the ball away too many times leaving fox exposed at times crossing woeful
Mikel 8 rock steady showed a couple of pieces of class in the middle of the park Thompson 7 works well alongside Mikel Powell 6 frustrating needs to be more clinical with passes very composed on ball
Campbell 5 great first half except could have done better in front of goal terrible second half gave it away as much as McClean Fletcher 5 work hard should have had a couple finishing was not there
Subs 6 all did ok
Overall 6.5 defensively very good not clinical enough going forward.

Using the same argument, Rotherham mustered zero shots on target and we kept a clean sheet so why wouldn’t the back 5 not get more a 5 rating?

But if we'd have beat Derby yesterday, we'd have taken that 1-0 win - and Rotherham are above them in the table. We are what we are - a Championship side. Our squad is made up of Championship players. We've got no divine right to 'steamroller' anyone. Our biggest enemy this season will be ourselves - poor team selections, and/or players not turning up (I'm thinking Campbell yesterday, by his own standards, he was rubbish). We were not great by any stretch yesterday, but it was comfortable a 1-0 as you'll get. In fact, I don't think we've played well yet, and look where we are. We've had more 'poor' performances this season than we've had 'decent', and I don't recall thinking that any were 'good'. But maybe that's the sign of a good team??

Exactly, a 3 or 4 game purple patch in this division is worth its weight in gold. There’s no reason we can’t do this in this spell. Watford are in transition and Reading have just been beaten by Coventry. If we hit some form we will be near the top of the league before the international break.

I'm not saying we should steamroller teams. But ratings of 7s and 8s yesterday when we were bang average is wide of the mark. Was it that comfortable? If their player doesn't slip he knocks it across the box for a tap in and we go behind at home again.

It was a wank game of football between two teams who looked like they'd struggle to score in a brothel before an atrocity to defending and goalkeeping happened. Awful game, we go the win, absolutely no positives bar that, move on to the next one.
