He's a nice guy and Stoke City legend but his time was called some years ago.

Christ almighty I’ve just listened to the re run of the goal on Radio Joke😮Come on Nige show some bastard emotion Well he missed it, as almost did the ifollow coverage who were always showing replays at inappropriate times. Robin Gray did an excellent job on the mic when he commentated a few games ago. Brilliantly informed and always up with play, maybe he should be getting more air time now? BM That coverage pissed me off today mate Nonsensical full replays of nothing incidents whilst the match was being played and it culminated with them virtually missing the goal We even had 20 second behind the goal live action shot of the Rotherham sub whilst the match was going on

Regardless of his errors ,I'd much prefer Nige than that sanctamonious Blakeman who prattles on about anything other than whats going on in the match. Blakemam is dreadful. He was talking drivel- and not watching the game- at Luton when Nige had to intervene and tell the listener that we’d had a chance. He’s a joke. How he landed the gig is beyond me. He also spent the Gillingham cup game spending more time talking about the Vale than what was going on. He also fancies himself as a small time Adrian Durham trying to whip up calls to praise n grumble then proceeds to belittle those with an opinion not the same as his. Give me Nige any time.

Nige makes a few mistakes (to state the bloody obvious) but he's a bit of an institution. I say stick with Nige!
There were some funny ones today though
When he went through the line up just before the 2nd half
'we've got Smith a right wing back, Fox at wing back, McClean at left wing back"
when no-one was actually playing wing back!

Without sounding rude, does anyone actually know how old he is? 48. But he did hammer the disco biscuits in the 90s.

I quiet enjoy him. I wait with anticipation to find what colour our and the oppositions stockings are🤪 If he does retire he could start commenting on orgies and tell us what underwear the women are wearing.

Fox might be seeing yellow here. When he’d already been shown the card. BM To be fair that is probably due to being a radio commentator when people can't see what's happening so it doesn't matter. Last season he was awful for commentating a full minute behind the action but has improved. I love having someone who makes such funny mistakes. That’s actually one of the things that’s really striking about having radio commentators on live streams - you realise they’re often describing the action a good while after it’s happened. It’s not just Nige, it’s just a feature of radio commentary you don’t normally pick up on. By nature it has to be more precise and detailed than when you’re accompanying images, and because nobody is watching it’s no skin off anyone’s nose if you take a bit of time to get the description right.

My dad as forever got the name of players completely wrong or the pronunciation of the players name completely wrong. When I used to take the kids round to see their Nan and Grandad,, I'd be talking football with my Dad and he'd be pronouncing names wrong, and my kids would be killing them selves trying not to laugh. That's how I listen to Nige today, he's a dying breed.

The 5 minute James Bond chat was the highlight for me. "Referee Darren Bond blows his whistle. And speaking of Bond.........." Cue Martin Spinks waiting patiently to shoehorn in his "shaken not stirred" joke......

He might be getting on and is becoming more eccentric by the week, but I absolutely love the bloke with his old fashioned commentaries. At times he's far more entertaining than the football. I thought he was on top eccentric form today. It will be a sad, sad day when Nige switches off his microphone. Spinksy helped him out today. I like Spinks and it's obvious that he has the utmost respect for our individualist legend, as do all those who actually know him. I've met him on a couple of occasions and I can only describe him as a true gentleman. His greatest moment, he says, was when we beat Cardiff at Ninian Park when Gudjon was the manager. He was appalled (and angry) when the announcer told the Cardiff fans to stay off the pitch during their celebrations. He said he couldn't believe it because there was still ten minutes to play. He also shed tears when we lifted the League Cup Trophy at Wembley. And heads go up! OS.

Times moved on. So should he.
I'm not sure theres any one living or dead who's seen as many Stoke games though so he deserves respect.

His commentary today was miles better than the game at least Nigel brings a smile to my face which is more than the players do just lately.

I want a quid for every time he uses the word "channel". And I'll have a quid for every time a player "drills" a shot at goal.

He’s been with us through the highs and the lows and he’s lived them, felt them just like every one of us. He’s a Stokie through and through and is loved and respected by most of his fellow fans, for he has served us brilliantly as our eyes and ears over the years. It would be so sad for him not to be remembered as the legend that he is because he tried to go on for too long. He still has a role to play I’m sure but probably not as one of the lead commentators. Spinks is a decent commentator The frightening thing about Spinks is that (formations aside) it sounded like he knew more about football than most of the ex-footballers who co-commentate. It just wouldn't be the same without Nige somehow

Well according to Nige today we had Campbell has now grown a good fair few inches, grown long hair and turned white Smith became Fox and vice versa Nick Powell had turned black and assumed the identity of Jacob Brown Jamal Blackman was now Shamelle Blackman Blackman got called Blackburn Centre cirtle Tom Poke scoring for the Vale 6 Minutes of injury time, where did that come from? Oh yes he did have a bad injury, I take it back, that's a correct decision. Have I missed anything else off the list? Brown playing a pass that was clearly Cousins. The bloke needs pensioning off. He's an embarrassment and distracts from the game. The Swansea commentator was pretty bad also. Kept stating that Campbell was on the ball, when he was on the bench. Oakley-Boothe was on the ball.
