It most likely will be Davies Chester Souttar Fox Smith Mikel Clucas TOB McClean Gregory Fletcher This is most likely. Gregory was lucky to get the goal versus Preston. Overall, I didn’t think he played that well. However, you don’t drop someone for scoring. Wouldn't say he was lucky, good anticipation but yeah quiet game.Ii would start him tomorrow with Fletch and maybe Campbell wider. our home form was good last season with the odd exception, like to see us a bit more adventurous than the last game obviously

Hopefully he'll pick a side that wins the game comfortably and prevent people losing their shit.

Would like to see a 4-4-2 .... Davies, Souttar, Collins, Smith, Fox; Mikel, Tashan, Tymon, Thompson; Brown, Campbell. Subs: Indi, Fletcher, Blondy, McClean. While we still await Verlinden, Shawcross and Allen.

Last season I was very impressed with the Brum forward Bella when he came on. He’s very quick and could cause our defenders grief today. It’s not going to be as easy as the last time we played them but these are the games we need to win.

Am I right thinking that if we win today, we’ll be in our highest Championship position since relegation (which is pretty damning of the last few years)?

I've a feeling this match may define our season.
Win it and we are in business for the first time since our relegation. Fail to do so and we will look miles off the early pace.
We've been dancing around the hand bags for 2 and a half years now, time to ask the girl out !
(Or boy, everything goes these days :-))

For me, this is the acid test of whether we are good enough to make a serious challenge or have just flattered to deceive so far. If we really are going to be there or thereabouts, then Birmingham City at home is a match we simply have to win. Anything else would signal either mid table obscurity or god forbid another relegation dog fight. Birmingham have become very resilient and hard to beat so will be a tough nut to crack, but in MON we trust to pick the right side for this match and as importantly play the right system.

Could do with a victory to take us into the international break on a high.
I just have a sneaky feeling hogan might score and bela will cause us some big problems.
I’m going for a score draw.

Yep, it's a fiendishly tough match, but one you feel we have to find a way through if we are even half serious about mounting a challenge.

Big game today. A win and we cement ourselves as playoff contenders.
However another goalless afternoon and the top couple of places will start to look a long way above us.
The performance at PNE prior to the sending off was quite frankly awful.
I think we will know by this evening if this is going to be a promotion hunting season or a so so season.

Desperate for us to win because I can't really tell how our season is going to shape up. Fairly certain we'll finish somewhere between 12th-5th but there's obviously a huge difference between the high-end and low-end of those finishes, so I feel nervous because how we perform in the first quarter of the season should give us big clues as to how good we're going to be.

Another 3pts today and another clean sheet quietly confident. 2-0

We will need to be patient today.
They are going to be very hard to break down and so far we have been poor at scoring.
In a way it is good there is no crowd getting frustrated and passing there annoyance onto the players.

We seemingly can't score more than one goal a game, and Brum are very resilient under Karanka. I'm hoping for an outlier of a result where we win 3-0 or 4-0, but I reckon it will be a tight game with defences on top and possibly a 1-0 to us. I wouldn't be surprised if Hogan scored on his return though.
Any sort of win today will set us up nicely for the rest of the season, a draw or defeat will make the top six seem a long way off even at this stage of the season.

Quick question: Is the match shown on any TV channel in the UK?

I hate Birmingham, they just really get on my nerves, and we often seem to get done by them. Would take a 1-0 right now!
If we can get 7 from first 4 that's a decent-ish return in itself, with the bonus of securing 4 points more than in the same fixtures last season, and 6 more than in our first 4 games last season!
As others have said we might need to be patient and try to wear them down. gives me hope

Can’t stand them. Putrid vile outfit. Stems back to the early 90s. Anytime they lose I still smile. Out of all the clubs in the league, these are one club I would happily see fold. Or just slowly sink into the non leagues. When villa got promoted I was chuffed, purely because I knew that shits from the other side of the city would be devastated
Goaarn Stoke. Tear them a new one
