Where to begin... Literally every single one of our worst signings I have thought would be immense.

The strongest side being put out for Valencia away🙈
Oh, and that Ric would never slap a teammate across the face
Oh and that pay on the gate would never in a million years be a quid

Loads and loads!
The unpredictability of Football makes it all that more exciting.
Nathan Jones was the saviour and gonna take us back up.
Kenwyne Jones was a great signing and going to score 15 a season for us.
Saido the Twat Berahino would turn it around and show the form he showed at WBA. On more than one occassion.
An all Red-Back shirt would give us nothing but unluck.
And much much more I dont want to dwell on 😂.

12 years old, singing at the top of my voice ,in the old boothen end ,along with all the older lads, "Terry Conroy ,you're a wanker ,you're a wanker." Until I was told it's Tony Currie.

Obviously a certain poster may not be posting on this thread anyway what have you been glaringly wrong about?I thought Dave Kitson was a perfect signing for Stoke City I Thought TP would never get Stoke promoted Martin Carruthers looked a fantastic signing Why has Macari signed that fat slow lump Overson? Rowett will get Stoke to the play offs at least there will be gajillions more no doubt Not like you to be grammatically challenged, lordb,, and I’m sure it’s a typo, but could you please edit out that chuffing apostrophe?! It most definitely is like me!

Ian Allinson. I thought he was going be ace. Great call that. I thought he was a great signing....massive let down Kit son Was very happy with Tuncay and totally nonplussed with Huth when that double deal was announced Thought Ball, Little, Kamara and Rowett would all do well for us

John Tudor will score loads of goals for us. Marco Gabbiadini will score loads of goals for us. Kurt Zouma will be great for us in defence Gianelli Imbulla will turn out to be a fantastic signing. I think there's a pattern emerging here. 😏

I honestly thought that signing Gerry Taggart was a massive mistake Other than that I ALWAYS expect new signings to do well...I guess I mean I always HOPE new signings will do well Certainly impressed with Imbula, Badou and Etebo after their debuts...didn't last long did it? Riki Dadason scoring with his first touch...sure to be a major player for us...

When I first started supporting the club in the 70's I thought we were the most exciting team in the land and that we would bag loads of trophies and go on to be a major force in football.
50 miserable, torturous, utterly dross and painful years later I am still waiting.
I have made poor choices with the women in my life also - all of them telling me I take football too seriously - my longest relationship lasted 10 seasons.

I remember thinking Marc Goodfellow was destined to be the next best thing after his starring role & 2x quality goals versus Man United after the bizarre hastily arranged friendly despite our season having already started! Thought Goodfellow was the man after that game but wasn't to be, a game which all but sealed Barthez's fate as a Man Utd player!
Oh & the other thing was I thought Brek Shea was going to be a quality signing. Embarrassed to say I listened to the hype & after watching the now common place YouTube highlights reel of him which included some pearlers, made the foolish move of having Shea put on my home shirt for that season! Doh.. Dont think I ever wore that top out in public!

I try to look on the bright side of things these days (where I possibly can) so have been wrong about things more than ever these last few years! ??? Off the top if my head: 1) I wanted the club to keep Mark Hughes prior to our relegation season- that was very much the wrong decision! 2) I thought Imbula was going to be one of our best ever players. 3) I thought Nathan Jones was going to be a really good appointment (or perhaps that was just blind hope). I'm sure there are many more.

I thought when we sacked Pulis was the right time. I know we played better football under Hughes and finished higher in league but them Pulis years will take some beating.
I was wrong

I thought that there’s no way that Pulis would have a naked fight with Beattie in the same season that Lawrence “fell over his dog”. Oh how wrong I was.

I was wrong You weren't wrong. A Pulis team would never have beaten Liverpool 6-1, Man City 2-0, finished 9th three seasons on the trot etc, signed Arnie and Shaq etc. The bad decision was not getting rid of Hugehs earlier and then replacing him with Lambert.

Agree with what you are saying. I know it may sound weird to some but if I had the choice of Pulis years or Hughes years I would pick Pulis. I think it was the fact we were expected to go down and proving people wrong was great. When we got players like arnie, shaq, bojan etc we all expected to do well taking away the edge like the loudest ground in football it all went a bit quiet when we expected.

Graham Shaw would actually be better than David Platt.
Michael Owen would be a decent signing.
Odemwingie - why, he’s past it.
