Who are Stoke’s biggest rival now? Is it really Vale, with us remaining 2 leagues apart? Can’t be Crewe, they’re shite. Arsenal? Is that over now we’re not in the Premier League? The hatred from the baggies must have been quenched since we gifted them promotion, same for Swansea. How about Cardiff? Derby? Wolves? Blues? Bournemouth?

The rest of the division. I don't think we really have one.

It's not exactly local but I predict we'll have a fractious relationship over the next 9 months with Bournemouth.
It should really be with Derby this season but apart from about 1980 when I remember being pelted with copious quantities of loose masonry in a crumbling car park outside the old Baseball Ground we generally seem to rub along okay with them.

WOAH!!!! steady on now! Their are words & phrases which can cause a lot of offence on the forum, and moderators WILL act accordingly That word I had a massive telling off for using before, being told to go to the naughty corner with finger on lips a la nursery school. Mention the "S" word in a similar tone to the original Wicker Man.

Was Leeds for me last year, but only because I have 2 good friends who support them. I am still paying for our results against them - they still refer to games against us as training matches I really don't care who we are playing on the whole though - I want to beat who we are playing next. We don't really have any rivals and nobody sees us as their rivals. Would like to see us do something against Preston next year maybe. Bit of a bogey team for us and they are the archetypal championship club, they never have too many bad games, they defend with purpose and attack with purpose and with a bit of luck they may make the play-offs - they are the benchmark good championship team who you have to play well to beat.

Any Stoke fan in Stafford will tell you it's those Dingle fuckers.
But hands down it'll always be Vale, despite not playing often in recent years.

Odd suggestion. Doubt we'd make their top 15/20. Personally I just say vale to save the embarrassment of our biggest rival being a club that puts us about 8th on their own list of biggest rivals. From 2001-2005 I would've said Cardiff though. Think that one has died down now. Arsenal aren't really a "rival" even when we're in the same league. Just a mutual dislike. But then you could say the same about vale as we've not been on par with that shitshow of a club for 2 decades now, allahu akhbar.

Suppose Jones' Luton and Rowett's Millwall add a bit of something that put them above any other team as a bit of a rivalry for me this season.

Bournemouth will probably count as one, although it sucks that they let Howe go. Who knows they might even be allowed to play football under new management.
