West Ham are playing ok at the moment and Antonio on fire. They'l be fine. Bournemouth's away form is dire and a point at Everton be a big ask Need all three don't they? I hope they drop. Don't like seeing shitty tinpot clubs with no history in the Premier League. Get Leeds, WBA and Forest up. Not so much Forest. They're just not very good and would be like trying to shoot Christopher Biggins in a phone box for Premier League teams playing them

When we were relegated I cringed at the likes of Bournmouth, Watford and Brighton managing to survive in the PL while we were going down. Well it looks like at least 2 of these are getting their comeuppance this season hopefully. Just a shame spammers aren’t joining them People still under estimate just what a good run we had in the Premier League. Watford and Bournemouth have done five years to our ten. Brighton won't be far behind them and Burnley, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace won't be there forever. I just hope we can get back there and have another decent run at it at some point in the not too distant future. I think I am right in saying that during the 2017/18 season we were the longest serving Prem team with the exception of Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Man United, Man City, Tottenham and Chelsea. The giants of the world game and us! One day you're right there, then something slips...

Watford, quite literally being served their arse on a plate. Good on the Villa, haven't quite got to grips with the Prem this time around, you feel another year and they'll probably have a better go. I think Villa's problems this season have probably stemmed from the fact that they were pretty average for a lot of last season and were promoted via the play offs after a great end of season run. In actual fact had we beaten them at the Bet365 in late February of last season we'd have moved to within a point of them in the league. We were far and away the better side first half as well, they looked really poor.

Which is why I made a point of enjoying it instead of continually yearning and banging on about the next level. In reality we reached the peak of our possibilities. And it was ace.

All my years following Stoke, from 1970,the majority have been spent outside of the top division.I have never thought of us as a 'big club'and as far as I was concerned we were always overachieving every season we stopped in the Prem. Next season I will be quite happy not to be involved in a relegation battle and finishing mid table will be ok to me,but with the manager we have in place now getting promotion would not surprise me.

Is there any middling-sized team promoted from the Championship that’s had a run as long as we did in the whole time of the Prem? I remember I looked at it towards the end of our run and couldn’t find many, if any, to match us.

There’s no service station in Watford? True Is Toddington the nearest ? Not really my part of the world People understandably think Watford gap services (the oldest services in the country) are close to Watford. But Newport Pagnell services are much nearer. "Watford gap" is named after a nearby geographical feature, rather than the chasm between Troy Deeneys ears...

The ten stable years we spent in the Prem really does highlight the awful mismanagement at the club over the last couple which resulted in relegation. Having said that, there are seven or eight clubs that will never go down, and about 30/35 clubs below that who are essentially interchangeable in the PL at any given time. Our relegation is just par for the course for clubs outside those top seven or eight, see Bournemouth. Burnley will go down in the next 3/4 years.

I have a weird fondness of them partly cause Staffsvilla always seemed a decent bloke on here and partly cause they're a big club with a proper stadium. Watford and Bournemouth have no place in the top league for me.

As a kid in the 1960s/70s my parish priest was a massive Villa fan and when I was an altar boy we used to have great Stoke/Villa chats prior to Mass on a Sunday morning. (I guess I should now apologise to all the parishioners who used to wonder why 8 o'clock Mass at St Gregory's in Longton always started late, especially when Stoke had been at home the previous day. ) Over the years I have worked with a few Villa fans who apart from the early 1980s have had a very "Stoke" like view in that they always worry that no matter how good things look at the moment tomorrow the wheels will fall off. My brother-in-law is also a Bluenose and has a very "Port Vale" attitude in that he seems far happier to see Villa fail than Birmingham succeed. (I have seen plenty of posts on his facebook page celebrating Villa failures but can't remember one celebrating a Birmingham success). Is it wrong to say that I will have a quiet chuckle to myself at the thought of him sitting on the sofa swearing loudly at the TV if Villa manage to escape?

Fulham had 13 years didn't they? Didn't Charlton have 10 years of mid-table obscurity under Curbishley? Sacked him to go to the 'next level' and the rest is history They did but it’s a popular myth that they sacked him. He refused to a sign a contract that was longer than a year because he was angling for other jobs, he’d just interviewed for the England job before he got left. Which went to McClaren instead. If you go on their forums, they are as angry about the myth as we are about people thinking we came down as soon as we sacked Pulis. There was probably an element of “next level” but The general sense is that Curbishley himself was ready to go.

Charlton did 6 seasons of finishing between 7th/14th, then finished 19th in their 7th season.
