Mmm
Came off with a sore finger !
To put that in perspective , Stuart Pearce , twice played on for forest with a broken leg . On one occasion cloughie noticed something was wrong and subbed him off . On the other occasion he finished the match !

Why on earth didn't we appoint him, even after that Watford game?

Arnie made my day v Man C when we played them off the park.
Unfortunately Arnie and his type was the start of the root.
If the article is true that he came of with a sore finger , then it says it all .
Etherington and Pennant took us to Wembley.
What did Arnie and Shaqiri take us to
Those types destroy culture.

Remember him getting a red card just before Christmas raising the speculation that he did it deliberately so he could miss the Christmas and new year games.

Arnie Good player on his day. Arnie Bad attitude every day. He was miles better than "good". He was world class on his day. For me, he's the only attacking player we've had in the last two decades, with the possible exception of Moses, who is even on the same planet as Fuller. He and N'Zonzi are the only players in my lifetime who I think that I have been genuinely privileged to witness in their pomp. If we're all completely honest, the reason that his departure stung quite so much was because he was that good, and that important. There was all of his other behaviour in forcing the move, but Marc Wilson also did that and people barely remember him now.

I never really rated Arnie as highly as others on here. He is a good player, but I just always felt he was inconsistent and his attitude was questionable

Best control of an incoming ball I’ve ever seen at Stoke.
But there is always price to team unity with players of that type - but we made about 20 million quid on him so you’ve got to blame recruitment (for the billionth time) in wasting the money.
He was the (only) embodiment of the new - self sufficient - regime that was ultimately so catastrophic. That’s not his fault though.

Are you serious? You honestly don't feel privileged to have watched Bojan and Shaqiri (alongside Arnie) dismantling some of the best teams in the land?

Arnie was hugely popular with teammates and we needed more of his type not less of them. As I posted when he left...sadly done of you lot will get exactly what you deserve and it won't be for the better for the rest of us.

Unlike Shaqiri, Moses held down a regular starting spot in a title-winning team and was brilliant for us.

Let's also not forget the legendary goalkeeper Bert Trautmann who played on in an F.A cup final with a broken neck. Talk about nails! Also our own goalkeeping hero, Dennis Herod. Broke an arm against Villa and played on as subs weren't allowed. Admittedly on the wing not in goal, but he did score!

You can't blame Arnie for our relegation, selling him was the issue. Even selling him wasnt the issue the failure to adequately replace was like it was with N'Zonzi It’s incredibly easy to say that the failure to adequately replace N’Zonzi and Arnie was the main reason for our demise. In practice, this is very difficult to achieve with our resources. Who would you have replaced them with?

Arnie was a fabulous player. He was also a 1st class dickhead. He always decided when he was to be substituted. Moyes has got him spot on with the finger comment. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen him feign injury to get himself off the park. He used to wait for a bit of a rough tackle by the opposition and you just knew it was game, set and match for him.
OS.
