Currently 6 points clear of relegation with 5 to play (with Wigan -12 points and our goal difference). 1 win to make sure, but today has eased the pressure massively. 6 points clear of relegation? You mean 2 points and It’s still not even in our own hands. If Hull and Middlesbrough win their games in hand we’re back in the relegation zone. It’s that type of complacency that gets you in the shit I think we need at least 5 more points Of the teams below us, they are guaranteed to share some points because they are playing each other Ideally we need one of them be cut adrift after the next 2 games, I don't think we should bank on Wigan being relegated It is in our own hands - today's win and performance should give a boost of much needed confidence hopefully not complacency Well played everyone, 2 important saves from Jack need to be applauded

Great win today but there’s still much work to be done to ensure survival. Credit where credit is due though, well done lads!!

No, we're 2 points clear but Middlesbrough have two games in hand and Hull have one. So it's not over yet. Middlesbrough have a game in hand not 2, same as Hull. Baggies vs Hull and Midds vs QPR tomoz.

1 win and a draw?....but from the top teams? If we beat Birmingham we could well go above them. Bristol City have lost all 4 games since returning from lockdown. So 4 points from those games and we don’t need to worry about how we do against the top teams. BM

Beat Leeds this week and the position will look a hell of a lot healthier
Easier said than done though

Leeds a Birmingham h Bristol C a Brentford h Forest a We are more than capable of losing all of those. Wigan may ultimately rescue us as we are effectively 5pts off relegation currently. And at the same time more than capable of picking up points in all them games

Predictor time now: www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-championship/ I had a very pessimistic stab and we stayed up by a point from Boro (though we were 6th from bottom), they got saved by Wigan then getting the deduction. Luton Barnsley Wigan down, us up to 18th even on a low points tally of 49.

What a difference a day makes. Think we were about 11/4 yesterday with Skybet Indeed ! With today’s results and Wigan’s administration you have to fancy them, Luton & Barnsley as very clear favourites , although no room for complacency by Stoke

We have a massive problem with complacency at the club. You'll often see our players perform well in a big game and then switch off.
We really need them to stay switched on eight to the very end.

Thursday's game could hardly be bigger and Leeds while lying in a good place are still not automatically there, which could very well work in our favour, if we come at them like we did today. They're not very fond of playing men like Powell anc Campbell.

I thought there was a lot of rubbish spouted in the last week or so about us not having a chance of survival, and lo and behold the pendulum looks to be swinging to an equally ridiculous but polar opposite position. My thoughts for what little worth they are:
1. Don't rely on the situation at Wigan being settled, there's lots of life in that dispute yet. (And personally I really hope they stay up, although I'm not as pure a soul as to hope it happens at our expense). 2. I would much prefer to be in our position, than any of the six teams below us. 3. If Wigan do get a reprieve then I think you are looking at around 50-53 points to stay up (A lot of the teams are averaging a point/game +4 or +5, so a point/game +6 should do it). 4. We have a tough fixture list, and it is difficult to see where points will come from. 5. I've never been any good at predicting where points would come from, so the odds are we can pick up 6 points from our last 5 games. Under MON we have done at least that in every group of 5 games (Not checked that, but I'm sure it's true)

Really? With 46 points, the best goals difference and Wigan’s points deduction? No one has ever gone down from the championship with 52 points Peterborough went down with 54 a few years back. Not 52, so factually you may be correct. didn't Blackburn go down with 52?
