Give Michael a break. He's probably been looking at hours of tapes of Scottish Football, looking for prospective signings. His brains are probably befuddled.

7 strange starting lineup but it's likely he would have been influenced with fitness stats more than usual. Subs were good and a streaky point from the first game back. Can only improve

He's proved he is fantastic at getting the best out of a sh#te squad . Which is great The 64000 dollar question is can he get good players to come to Stoke too If he can do that , I am upgrading him from very good to f*cling brilliant

Showed willingness to try something different. Ok it didn’t really work but showed judgement and courage to use the bench well. We deserved the point. We had better of the key stats. After their goal they hit woodwork - as we did - and Jack had just one save to make. We have a manager who thinks creatively and makes changes when things aren’t working out.

What a way to start back! Perfection's for another day but for strength and persistence and all the qualities we need to stay up, bring it on - we'll only get better from here. 9 from me and.... in the incredibly unlikely event you somehow were there, add plenty of ********* 9 are you his agent or wife 😎

6 I assume the starting line up was based on what he and his aides have seen in practice. The FBs were very dodgy, we missed Allen's energy, and we totally lacked creativity. But the team kept playing and never gave up, and we salvaged a point very late yet again instead of conceding. MON has certainly instilled some dogedness, instead of the often capitulation under the last two managers.
I can't wait till we off-load Ince. He sucks the life out of our side, or he just sucks.

What was the something different? Midfield combo of Sorensen and Thompson, Collins at fullback

MON is no fool so It would be interesting to know why he went with Collins given that ( if I can remember that far back) Smith was doing OK before lockdown

On the river all day drowning flies. Far too nervous to watch/listen to the game. So when I saw the score at 7.00 pm I was pleasantly surprised. Without seeing the game a 1-1 draw away to a team, who are above us in the league is an 8, but it probably does not count because I did not see the game. It could be the point that keeps us up

6. Got it wrong with the starting line up and we could have been more behind at half time. As much as we all love Shawcross, he's gone. We got away with it and he made good changes and we escaped with a last minute scrappy goal from a corner.
Decent result, didn't go about it very well. We'll need to improve to survive because if we play that way every game we'll go down. Will be interesting to see how we play at 'home' without the crowd. That was very similar to a lot of away performances this season and if we play the same at 'home' in the empty stadium we'll be in trouble.

7* 😉
We kept going to the death and that can only be a positive.
Admittedly the selection and formation were puzzling to start with but the subs helped to rebalance the team.
Some pleasant selections though with young Sorenson and collins on. Surprised oakley booth didnt get on though.
Happy with a point.

6 at best. A change of formation from when we were hitting our stride? I know players are rusty and not match fit, but no need to change things again. The continued selection of Ince. Shite. It wasn’t a change...

Starting line up was a mixture of surprises that set the tone for the performance.
I actually thought before Joe's injury he had settled on a starting line up , so why so many unforced changes.
He only had to make one change " whomever ' for Allen and possibly one other for Shawcross.
Apart from Ince I don't know what was wrong with:
Butland
Smith Shawcross Chester Indi
Clucas Sorrensen
Ince Powell McClean.
Campbell.
It was massive tinker that nearly blow up in his face.
The positive is he made changes early on when it was clear he had got it wrong.
So 5 for me.
Next week Campbell for Ince with Vokes up front centrally.

6 - a very unimpressive restart
The midfield was poor and we were outplayed there. Thompson and Sorenson are not ready yet.

MON is no fool so It would be interesting to know why he went with Collins given that ( if I can remember that far back) Smith was doing OK before lockdown It would, maybe it was a fitness thing and if thats the case more understandable, or given he basically went with 4-5-1 disguised as 4-3-3 he was happy to play for a point and thought it was the best way to do it, I'm more bothered about the formation though tbh, I'm hoping it was just a way to be solid in the first game rather than reverting back to tried and tested failure.
