Yet we have an MP go to a funeral with over 100 people in attendance and it hardly makes the news. Journalists are asking Cummings about social distancing whilst pushing each other for position to get photos. Attacking someone for attending a funeral isn't likely to go down well is it? You must be a certain level of twat to begrudge anyone attending a funeral to be honest. Lowest of the low stuff even.

The one thing I like about Dominic Cummins is his disregard for career politicians not serving the people So you like someone who acts like a prick then? Unfortunately if a person is a prick they tend not to give a shit about you, their mates or anyone.

If reports are true that would appear to fuck the alleged barnard castle trip as rulebreaking. If you'd actually read the article rather than just indiscriminately spamming this board with tweets, you'd have noticed it's dated 14 April, not 8 April. Try harder, and stop spreading fake news

Yes, the I don't give a fuck about my child attitude given he drive for about 6 hours in a virus filled car infecting the poor kid with virus overload. He's lucky he didn't kill his kid. It's ridiculous how some of the arseholes on here are actually defending the prick.

There has not been a child die of covid19 who didnt have underlying problems, his wife already had it, as did he so the kid would have already had it by then.

We have social distancing don't we, I'm sure people can attend a funeral and maintain the 2 metre rule. People should not be stopped from going to a funeral unless they are infected.

I think it would have taken longer than 4 hours with two adults feeling like shit due to coronovirus and coughing and spluttering on their merry way. Throw in a 4 year old who wants the toilet every hour or so. Questions we'll never know the answer to, how many stops did they make? How many door handles did they touch on this journey? How many people did they infect as they travelled from Covid rife London (at that time) through the heart of the country to the North East?

There are many people up and down the country who couldn't go to funerals. I absolutely begrudge that someone at the heart of this govt, someone who devised these rules not only flouted them but clearly doesn't give a shit that it's literally one rule for us and no rules for them.

Thanks for that, it puts the guy in a different light. Clearly the poor of this country need to be grateful to him for helping get rid of a tight fisted Chancellor and push on with boosting the economy via public works such as HS2. Regretably the economic scene has now changed due to the pandemic and we face a world wide recession. He clearly cocked up and made an error of judgement over travelling to Durham and will have got a right rollicking, but if i was in his position and had to do something to look after my son, I might well have done the same. You never can tell in these situations. I have no doubt it was a joint family decision, not just Cummings on his own. It seems tonight that Boris has decided to stick with him and basically rely on his huge majority to keep him in place. Who knows what the next few days will bring? if any Tory MPs really start to rebel seriously then they know what to expect as I'm sure Boris would have no compunction about withdrawing the whip from them like he did with Soames and others last September. Boris is a man on a mission and people had better not get in his way. Starmer is wise to keep his powder dry and bide his time; there is a long time to go till the next election.

They've botched the hit job, its clear the first visit was legal whatever you view on the morals of it, the trip to the castle you were allowed to drive for exercise as long as the exercise was longer than the drive, the I saw a bloke who looked like dominic cummings stuff has to be false, no way they would be denying it completely if it was true because they would get caught out and then he has to be sacked for lying to boris and boris looks very very very stupid. It wasn't when Cummings went to Barnard Castle.

This is just a pissed off press making it a big issue. Kuensberg and all her self important journalist mates are desperate to drive decisive stories. They had Brexit and made too much of it then the British people stopped it, the virus, every chance they have they look to be negative, the majority of people get what a difficult job our leaders have done, supported it and are not interested. Now they are having a witch hunt to deliver a scalp! Were the paparazzi standing 2m apart yesterday?

It is possible to have a number of people attend a funeral and keep everyone apart, even if that means people listening to the service from outside. I'm sorry for your loss and I imagine it was equally distressing not having people there who wanted to be but couldn't. People shouldn't have to deal with that added stress during such an emotional time.

"Sometimes, autistic people may need to go to quieter places, away from other people, even if these places are further away from their home." So the beautiful tourist location of Barnard Castle was the quietest place within reach of that leafy lockdown residence? This thread really is the last refuge of the terminal apologists. If my pro-Brexit/ pro-Johnson stepson and his partner are anything to go by then at least some of the wider population is waking up to this lot as they stated they will never support Johnson again after that shit show last night.

Do you know anything about autism mate, they can depending on the scale of autism need to go to quiet and or familar places, its entirely feasible that he has been taken there many times before and it is one of those places for him but regardless of that I think the parents not the state make that decision hence the reason there is no distances in the guidelines / rules. And I can also say as someone who quite openly walked my dogs twice a day albeit making sure to go at 7am / 7pm at night lots of people have been bending the rules without putting people at risk, in 3 of the 6 houses nearest to me I can see by the cars and faces that people have had kids and or their partners move in with them and not into separate buildings either and I can also tell you its not for one minute crossed my mind to phone the rozzers because that would just be a pretty scummy thing to do now if they were taking the piss and having parties I might but just living there its none of my business.
