Which was bigger though, the Kippax or the Spion Kop at St Andrews? BM Take a look and see if you can tell: Brum: Citeh: Great work matching up these 2 pics. This is what I had in mind for this thread. Proper full blown terraces which just happened to be on the side of a ground and not an end. Vast, cavernous, intimidating spaces, like an end only nearly twice as wide. And in these 2 cases in down at heel areas in Britain's 2nd and 3rd largest cities.

They have whole sections dedicated to old stadiums and current renovated stadiums in their old 'decor'. They also have sections on future developments. www.footballgroundguide.com/

Both look impressive but would imagine the Kippax had better acoustics as the roof covers the whole terrace.
I liked Burnley's Longside aswell but could never understand why they split it with away fans. I always thought they'd have been better putting away fans on the open terrace behind the goal

Rotherham united's old ground ... The only time I've come close to being arrested as a Stoke fan The mid-nineties I had flown back in from America that morning, drove up from near London for the match and let's just say the jet lag certainly started affecting my judgement. It was a crap game but the ref and the linesman our side was having an absolute shocker. When the linesman cocked up yet another offside I wandered down the terrace and shared my view of his incompetence with him. He looked over his shoulder and took off up the pitch. As the terrace was fairly empty at the front, naturally I sprinted off after him back and forwards for a minute or so, much to the amusement of the Stokies before the police came down and "had a word". I was warned if I did it again I would out so I went back to my place higher on the terrace and stayed with just verbal abuse for the rest of the match

BM Very true In fact looking at that picture it does look like a longer version of the Boothen
