So, all that means is Wigan are a better team. MON has done miracles with a terrible squad. Sorry mate, I disagree fundamentally. O’Neill has the strongest squad in the division by a country mile. They only need motivating and thankfully he is much better at this than the two previous managers. It's not as simple as that. The squad still has a losing mentality. A Mr Motivator/Steve Peters/Alex Ferguson super-hybrid would struggle to change that in however long O'Neill has had.

They only need motivating and thankfully he is much better at this than the two previous managers. You are making the same mistake a lot of people make: Squads don't win matches, teams do. We have a very mismatched bunch of individuals; some think they are better than they are, some are well past their best or simply lost the plot, some don't have the skill necessary, and some don't appear to care. They are a totally incongruous group of individuals who almost all cost too much and are not worth what the club paid for them. The last 2 managers failed to establish any degree of synergy, MON has achieved a lot by basically sticking with the same core of players* to try and establish some degree of teamwork, whilst tweaking the remaining positions to try and improve. * Butland, Ward, Batth, Indi, Allan, McClean, Ince, and Clucas + 3 of the rest. I'm sure MON would dearly love to change some of that core of players, but he is stuck with what he has got, and considers it better to try and maintain a stable team. It is no surprise to me that the 8 regular team members arrived here during different managers tenures as each manager has failed to bring in players that complement each other or the existing squad, and no manager has yet brought an effective defensive MF player. The view that the players "only need motivating" is laughable. Most of the players have no ambition left and are financially made. He adopts a defensive approach against teams that are in form like WBA and surprisingly Luton (3 wins in their last 4), most managers do. It's a logical cautious approach. In a way I am not too upset at throwing 2 points away today. It is the wake up call they need. Had we won and be sitting in 18th place feeling happy, we would be in for a big shock when we play the likes of Wigan, Hull, Barnsley, and Boro who will be scrapping like mad to beat us and avoid relegation.Do you think it would be unfair of me to suggest ... that had we won today, you'd be posting on here this evening, claiming that we had now properly turned the corner, with 7 points from 9, after our two defeats, which would now provide us with the (deserved) confidence boost we need, to push on successfully for the rest of the season? And that essentially, the bit of your post that I've highlighted, is simply, spin.

It’s not 100% the managers fault though that’s crazy? If Ince sticks one of his 3 chances away and we go two up we win the game comfortably. Disappointing to concede so late and it absolutely feels like a missed opportunity but the players have to take responsibility as well..... Do we mate seriously? We went 2 up at QPR ...another game where we created fuck all after 20 minutes We were lucky to be 2 up. They were all over us all game and should have been at least 1 up before we scored.
