We were predicted to stay up (4th) but now we are predicted to go down:
"And just how crucial this late February round of games could prove to Stoke’s long-term future is revealed in the latest predicted final Championship table churned out by the Football Web Sites supercomputer. Just a few days ago, it had the Potters surviving by the skin of their teeth come May. But all that has changed. And it is not good news. According to the latest prediction, Stoke are heading for League One, finishing third from bottom just a point behind Luton. A positive result at Kenilworth Road this weekend is looking more and more crucial for the Potters."
Anyone know how accurate this computer is?

Well the computer has been wrong once already in predicting we'd likely end up in 4th, so nothing to really be concerned about.

It's predicted we'll lose all 7 games on the road between now and the end of the season. I'd stake my life on that not happening.
In fact it's predicting that Stoke, Wigan, Barnsley, Luton and Middlesbrough will all fail to get a single point away from home, and that Huddersfield and Charlton will gain a single point.
This computer doesn't seem very super to me......

So it thinks we're only going to get 9 points from our last 12 games and 10 points would have us safe?
We've been averaging well over 1 point per game and have a very favourable run-in.

An absolute load of old bollocks for sure.
Mind you if it predicted us flying up the table towards the playoffs with an astonishing run of back to back wins I would be saying how wonderful this super computa is.

We're not losing all games on the road, I'm certain. I'd take a draw tonight if Wigan lose and beating Luton on Saturday. I think we'll just be fine. And a big dub tonight would be huge boost.
More super bollocks than 'super computer'.

Any one know who the Super Computer supports? Just in case it has a psychological agenda in play!

Said supercomputer will be basing its predictions on the season as a whole, whereas we know that things have been very different since O'Neill came in.

I think this super computer that does the predictions is the same one that beat Garry Kasperov that time. I'd be very worried. The supercomputer, seen yesterday

Too many variables that are not programmable to make anything like this ‘super’ reliable. Hence why following football is interesting, there are unlikely results every week.

I am not saying that supercomputer is right but fail to pick up points from our next 2 games Blacburn & Luton away & yes i would go with that. All teams around us are picking up unlikely results so we have to do the same.

To be honest, I don’t find those results overly surprising. You would have to assume that the average person could guess 5 positions in a league table. You would assume that they would weight a number of their variables, which would push certain teams into expected positions. I mean, yes each team has 20 positions that they could finish in, but barring an anomaly, most teams will finish within the same 6 or so places each year. Averaging out a hundred or so results from ‘experts’ would likely give you similar results and some experts may, rarely be able to get the whole league spot on.

All teams around us are picking up unlikely results so we have to do the same. Losing both our next two games would be a surprise. Going by O'Neill record so far would expect to win one. Personally I think we will win at Luton but could easily win tonight and lose Saturday. No dramas we will stay up by 6 points or so

A supercomputer is only as “super” as the code it’s running. Get it to run a shit program and you’ll get shit results.
I think it’s pretty unlikely that we will be unbeaten in all our remaining home games while also losing every single remaining away game to be honest.

Didn't Super Computer predict us to be Champions last year? I think the octopus has a far better hit rate. As someone on the match day thread has said is pretty much a waste of time predicting results in this league. Boro looked safe a month ago and Luton doomed, Hull an outside bet for play offs.

Just praying that all those who we play in the final month have their mind on other things like two legged play off games.
