This puts us down to the 5th richest owners in the UK. Newcastle’s new owners are 20 times richer than Man City’s. Just let that soak in - 20 times richer. That doesn't mean they will spend the money Man City owners appear to about things the right way mostly Didn't man city spend hundreds of millions of pounds to get that squad from nowhere? In the late 90s and early 2000's they were a nobody until the coffers came in for the likes of aguero and kompany. You being serious?

People seem to expect these Arabs to have the same ethics and and morals that we have in this country. Don't forget not long ago before oil was discovered there these people were uneducated, uncivilised people wandering around the desert with their camels and goats, with which their wealth was measured. Their lives have changed dramatically in a very short while with regard to wealth, but they are still culturally and ethically peasants! Hopefully their culture has progressed from the pre-oil era. Tunisia has advanced considerably. I referred in an earlier post to Lawrence of Arabia becoming a savage murderer. Here is the "no prisoners" clip from the movie. I don't think the Arab fighters were talking their orders from Lawrence, were they?

You being serious? well we have 5th richest owners but don't spend 5th most money do we ? Barnsley owner is super rich but doesn't splash out Spurs owner seriously wedged doesn't spend money like Man City Obviously new owners at Newcastle will spend however not seen anything re their intentions only speculation could be they spend & spend & spend and over time catch up with Man City or even overtake them or could be like Everton & spend lots but not mega lots like Chelsea, Man City & PSG

Should never have been accepted in the first place! Saudi-Arabia is a state that don't care about human rights, not even women's rights, still they are allowed to buy a football club in England!! This is a DISGRACE!

The scenes when they get relegated at the end of the season.. Given the Saudi track record I think the local press may need to be guarded in any criticism! [/b] It's a good job that you don't usually need hands to play football!

The perfect way to piss off Newcastle's new owners is to stage something unpalatable to their beliefs at every televised match. Have two gay men passionately embrace in the centre circle, get a beautiful woman in a scanty bikini to sing the national anthem before the match, open beer drinking and gambling.
Lets see how long their passion for football lasts with that lot being beamed back into Saudi homes, week in and week out.

Giving Qatar the WC is another disgrace! More than 6000 workers have lost their lives while building the stadiums and the facilities needed to arrange the WC! I really question the morale to the people in in charge giving these big events to countries like Qatar and China (Olympic Games).

It's the power of Capital. You see selective moralising in sport. But, take a look, only moralising that does not challenge the power of capital.

We should send our team out for the team lineups in full-on leather gear, bedecked with fabulous moustaches, and act like that's just our normal training wear.

Indeed. Once upon a time they would have paid Ashley in gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Along with the Persian Empire, the history of Arabia is fascinating. That baby entity called the USA and the modern western world have never understood the deep-rooted cultures that exist in the Middle East. And to complain about the heirarchy is complete hypocrisy. What's the difference between them and us when The Establishment and the super-rich here keep most of our citizens in the serf bracket? Our national game has long since been the plaything of the super-rich and I don't see any difference between a British entrepreneur and a Russian oligarch or an oil-rich Sheik of Arabique. OS.
