Could be interesting if we see Man City-type spending!

www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-takeover-steve-bruce-sack-b1933569.htmlThere are worries at other clubs that the Saudis will take the same approach as Manchester City’s Emirati owners and spend freely in an attempt to compete at the top of the league and in Europe but those close to the consortium insist that this will not happen. They are keen to play down the expectations of fans and maintain that buying Newcastle is an investment for PIF and not a Saudi vanity project. Emulating Abu Dhabi’s expenditure in Manchester is not part of their plans.

My Geordie friend has just been yapping on and on about this in our Messenger group, all excited cos he reckons this means they’re gonna sign players like Mbappe at the end of the season! Hope this is just more hot air and doesn’t go through, if only to shut him up!! Have they heard of FFP? Not a chance they can do that.

Was listening to Talksport earlier & they had an expert on who thinks it'll all be tied up by the weekend & the new owners will be aiming to be the next Man City with regards to ambition & spending power. He said its purely a case of when not if now.
Granted FFP will be a stumbling block to a degree, however we all know when it comes to the big power houses in world football they all have cute ways & means of playing the system!
The poor Gerodies who've been in the doldrums for years (as MSM would have it!) will soon be a different animal.
Anyone with NUFC fan mates need to brace themselves as they are about to become the next historical club manufactured into vast sums of money to no doubt soon be fighting for honours.

The more big clubs there are the more they have to share the best players out, potentially closing the gap between the top 6 (7 with these) and everyone else. and it makes the english league even more exciting, competitive and profitable for foreign players, bring it on I say.

Man City did most of their big spending before ffp though. Everton spent a shit load and now can’t spend a penny because of it. I think they’ll spend big but they’re going to have to be very cute with it because they can’t just do it in one go.

Massive club, huge support, they should be right up there and good luck to them if it upsets the likes of Man City, Man Utd and and the precious 'Pool.

More likely to be next Everton than Man city. They have extemely wealthy owners but FFP means they can't blow the lot.

Geordie fans are right up there with the bin dippers as the most entitled fans in the country. They are mega passionate about their football club, but very arrogant with it. Always puzzles me why Newcastle is often other fans’ second team. Must be the cheeky Ant n’ Dec image.

FFP confuses the hell out of me, read on here and other forums / outlets saying Newcastle won' t be able to go mad yet Simon Jordan just said that if they want to they can blow the transfer window to bits if they choose to!

Provincial club, will struggle to attract players with the right attitude money talks of course but the best players will not be signing for Newcastle can see them in similar situation to Everton who also have money but don't attract the top players - & it's easier to persuade foreign players to live in Cheshire than the north east Can see them signing Robhino types - talented players who don't give a shit However what they might get is a manager who gets more out of players so if they are smart they won't go for 'name' players they will go for up & coming talent from abroad who are far more like to have the right attitude who will see Newcastle as a stepping stone & develop the club that way Would expect scenario A to be more likely than scenario B

another brutal regime trying to whitewash their reputation.
ALL the world's problems stem from this piece of shit in the middle east; but if you like journalists being murdered, torture of domestic dissidents, the suppression of women, hate gays, no booze, no culture, like sky high petrol prices and don't mind the bombing of women and kids in the Yemen, the eventual watering down and dismantling of the football league, then lap it up.
Before anyone tells me the alcohol can be had in hotels, wow, who gives a fuck, 'brunch' in a hotel that's like a hot canary wharf. Sounds mint. If you holiday there, you're part of the problem why the world has gone to shot. Use your imagination and go somewhere decent instead of giving your money to these despots.

I remember Trevor Brooking on Match of the Day once saying Man United were everyone’s 2nd team 😀 - pundits and journalists really haven’t got a clue. P.S I find Newcastle and their ‘wonderful support’ to be one of the media’s most tedious cliches.

Good for Newcastle fans yes good for football no. imo football changed(and not for the better) when Roman abrovomich started to pump his billions into Chelsea. This led to a free for all and the only beneficiaries where footballers and their agents, this latest addition to the billionaires playthings will only increase the wealth divide. And don’t even mention ffp it’s a joke. maybe some statistician can enlighten me as to how many players Man City, and Chelsea have on their books who are not in their match day squad.? IMO they are buying up young talent so nobody else can. not good for the player, not good for football.(we had a young lad playing for us who was showing promise and Chelsea tapped him up I have never heard of him since,I see they are also sniffing around one of our latest protege. how do we stop our football clubs becoming a billionaires plaything? Probably impossible but I for one will not be paying a penny towards any subscriptions to view the so called elite. in an ideal world you would have to be a true fan to take control of a football club but unfortunately that will never happen. I am proud that Peter Coates and his family run our football club

They do need to run that twit Ashley out of town. But their ongoing challenge doesn't end with this new owner. Toppercorner's post above is totally spot on. All they are doing is trading in a rich idiot for a bunch of murderous zealots.
I have read nothing about the prospective owners planning to break the bank. That's a Geordie assumption. Sponsoring terrorism is expensive and it's risky. "Following the money" has been and will remain a key strategy to fighting these thugs. For example: What is Newcastle's plan once the owners get their assets frozen/seized? .
Even if that doesn't happen, it's Newcastle. As my earlier post states, just a matter of time before the infighting starts. This bunch can't get along amongst themselves long enough to sustain success. They are a "big club" but their own foolishness always stunts their growth. They will never "put up with" owners like the Coates, who are decent, modest and conservative.
The Hezbollah money should buy them a couple of years of sticking their chests out before it all goes tits up. So let's get that AK-47 logo on the front of their shirts, a balaclava on the mascot and let the media start fawning again.
Aside from that, I do feel for their fans.
I guess....
Edit: F**K em. There's no justification for these arrogant twats getting into bed with terrorist-backers. And the fans I've run across - I don't like.

Fair play, they’ve endured Ashley long enough.
Due to FFP though, they’ll have to just accept being the next Everton/Leicester/Spurs with consistent top 5-8 finishes, which I’m sure they’ll be fine with…for a couple of years.
