Does the second yesterday count as yet another assist? Pre-assist, which is a really valuable metric for creativity. Often assists don’t actually get credited to the player who initiated the goal, case in point, Powell’s ball v West Brom to release Ince. Is there nay easy way to look at our pre-assists this season? A quick Google didn't bring anything up.

Jones signed Powell as a free agent last summer – but he missed most of his time in charge with what was put down to niggling injuries. After the Cardiff game Jones said: “He’s started to now click, starting to be the player we signed him for back in June.
Thanks Nath and no credit to you. Pity you couldn't get Powell to click or anyone else for that matter either!

Assist metrics are dependent upon the guy you've passed to getting a shot away. A player can play a great defence splitting pass and then the recipient can just fall in a heap. Clubs measure a player's creative contribution by looking at how a completed pass or carry improves the likelihood that a goal will eventually result. On that basis Powell's the fourth most creative of the players who are still at the club behind Smith, Edwards & McClean in that order. For comparison McClean's added around 0.5 non shot xG per 90 via passes or ball carries, Allen's added 0.3 and Powell 0.4

Had a little poke at their lad taking the throw in 😂 but he was poor today. Second half he was everything the nay sayers say he was, lightweight. Which we know he isn’t.

Yep and I thought he attracted a lot of shitty niggly fouls that went unpunished by the ref. Was glad he was subbed as we’ll need him fit for the rest of the season
