Well every time I see this guy play I think wtf are folk on about. Dross Allen & Clucas we’re far worse than Powell tonight Possibly so and I can tell you Bmi was even worse but I was merely stating I don’t see what people see in him

I find it quite bizarre on a thread where Powell is being criticised quite a lot for their to be claims he doesn’t receive any criticism when he plays badly.

So...two wrongs...make a right? No they don’t but for some reason Powell can just trott about and get away with it. Not keen on him but heyho Trot about? He continually chased back to get tackles in, his effort can’t be faulted. I don’t think he ‘gets away’ with anything, this thread is testament to that.

Only player in Red and white who would get in their team.

This is getting stupid. He was far from the worst on show, in what was a more than acceptable team performance. May I break off here and say that if we saw more performances like that over the season we'd be nowhere near the bottom of the league!
Anyhow, I digress. What on earth is the problem that some people have with Powell that means their heads go everytime we lose?

This fascination with Powell is just weird though.

I think he's decent for us and He was really good on saturday Not shared by me, I think we're really lucky to have him and he puts a real good shift in most games. He'd be one of the first names on the team sheet every week for me. Lovely bit of sly shithousery again last night with a couple of discreet nudges when things were getting heated

Had a decent first half, fell off the pace in the second when we went behind. He is definitely becoming more of a central figure to the team, but its not happening as fast as I would like. If a good half is being completely ineffective then yes he had a good 1st half, along with Ince and McClean

I like him. Has somehow managed to perfect a style where looks half arsed yet at the same time seems to be everywhere sticking his foot in and asking for the ball. He’s also a massive shit house. Love that clip from last night after McLean knocked Pearson on his arse where he seemed to bear hug about 4 Preston players like a rugby scrum.
Whose taught him to head a ball in the last few weeks as well?

He does have a languid style and he certainly isn't the perfect genius some make him out to be, as he actually messes quite a lot of relatively simple stuff up, but that is because he is incredibly unorthodox, which means he also ends up doing things no one else in our team is remotely capable of.
And he works quite hard if you ask me.

Got to feel for Powell today, did what he's here for and create goals. Also to be fair to him he was still chasing lost causes in added on time. Don't think he likes playing with Vokes either as his movement is shocking.

6 direct goal involvements in 8 games (since he became a starter) and probably 3-4 pre-assists to boot (I.E the ball against West Brom where ince got the assist but the ball was all Powell)
He’s nowhere near being a problem and it one of our better players.

Probably one of the few players from todays game to come away with any praise, never stopped trying and was full of commitment and was always looking to create.....hes definitely not the problem.

A fantastic player. By far our best today. We need him to stay injury free and positive for the rest of the season!
