The main ones aren't, they got the sack, three of them So you don't include Cartwright or Scholes as having any responsibility in our transfer process, it was all down to the managers For the majority yes, they chose who we signed, the others haven't helped, with the new contracts etc but we don't know who was resposible for chosing which players do we.

If I remember rightly didn't Hoss lay claim to a few, I might be wrong but I think he did.

Nathan Jones, bringing in 10 players without having a look at what we already got! What a terrible manager in hindsight!

How late in the day did we sign him? Was he a panic buy after we didn't sign Gayle?

How late in the day did we sign him? Was he a panic buy after we didn't sign Gayle? Not sure we were ever truly in for Gayle. Luckily Hogan is only a loan. It's a real shame it's a season long one though.

Hopefully, if Villa do want Butland (and if we are prepared to sell him) then taking Hogan back from his loan will be a condition of the deal. Imagine Jack finally getting a deal with a PL club and then it all falls apart because Villa refuse to take Hogan back... I say it's better to get some extra cash in the deal now that Villa really needs a keeper.

Not exactly, but it's much easier now to see how crap he was. I was among those calling for his head long before he was sacked though!

The loan strategy from Jones was a complete disaster and totally wrong. what works best in the Champs is finding young ambition premier league fringe players eager to make a mark. I don’t think it’s as black and white as that. Think back a few years and we had big success with loaning experienced older players from Prem clubs like Hendrie, Diao, Delap, Matteo, Nash etc. I see the issue with the loans this season as being that we simply didn’t need them. The squad was huge as it is and none of the loan players were significant improvements on what we already had.

I could see what Jones was trying to do with Hogan, if you look back at what he did with Luton. It's quite obvious. The questionable loan for me was Duffy. Approaching his mid thirties and had just had a falling out with Sheffield United. He was obviously coming here as an old man with the hump - in a position we'd just paid out big wages for in Powell. I'd love to say the club have finally woken up and decided to have a serious look at creating a bit of balance with the process but I'm not holding my breath. From what I was told the Duffy deal was all sorted out in May of last year, in addition not a managerial request.

Knew about the deal and a certain Signal 2 presenter let it slip on air during the last match of the season

Post mortem Not given enough game time in a dysfunctional team He wasn't given enough games by the bloke that signed him in the summer. Now the new manager is looking for a different profile of forward, one that is polar opposite to Hogan. Julien N'Goy has more chance of playing than him.

I agree to send him back, personally I don't think Hogan is a bad player, wrong player for us maybe, not a bad player though
