Hopefully just a short term loan signing given his age

Outside bet for left back or competition for Clucas?
Or just a last pay day for one of his NI mates?

Brunt wasn't the best midfielder at Sheff Wed when we signed Whelan. Why would he be good enough now?

Some of you do not seem to realise that this transfer window is about the short term by bringing in 2 or 3 players that can help this squad stay in this division. If he succeeds in doing that the Manager can then look forward to the summer recruitment in trying to make us competitive at the top of the league. At the moment he will try to bring in players who he knows he can trust. This. I think some of our supporters need to get in the real world.

H I mean, he is a player that regularly plays that position though right? It’s not like McClean who had spent next to no time in his career there. I don’t think it’s a great idea if we bring him in, may as well keep Ward as back up there for 6 months. That said, it would be nice to have someone in the squad that can take decent set pieces!

If his dead ball delivery can be the difference between draws and wins then until the summer it's a no brainer.

If his dead ball delivery can be the difference between draws and wins then until the summer it's a no brainer. It's a pity it's not like the NFL, where we can bring him on just to take a decent set piece. He can do a job at left back I guess, but I thought Indi was destined for that role for the rest of the season! My main concern is how we get on with no real option at DM. Allen and Clucas it is then.

No problem whatsoever if he signs until the end of the season

I really struggle to see the point with this one as long as Clucas and Allen are staying put! I'd much rather see Thompson and Cousins given the chance to play and we still have Sørensen as an option as well. If we should go for one I suggest Markus Henriksen at Hull as they want him to leave. He is a very decent midfielder though and has played a lot of games at international level. His contract is also up this summer so he really could be worth a closer look.

We need to be looking beyond Brunt surely. I’d rather stick with what we have. West Brom seem to be pretty good at giving us their players that don’t make an impact

Just my opinion but I would rather us have the likes of Gilmour instead

theathletic.co.uk/1573136/2020/01/31/transfer-deadline-day-manchester-united-josh-king-transfers-signing/There are also suggestions that Stoke might have returned for Chris Brunt. I wrote about their interest at the start of the month but nothing seemed to have progressed. It sounds like Stoke are now looking to move in the final hours, although whether Brunt decides to go remains to be seen. I suspect he won't want to cut his ties with Albion, or turn his back on potential post-playing coaching opportunities, for just a few months somewhere else.

Bruno isn’t ill.
But I’ve been told he is sulking because a move didn’t happen.
So that’s fun.

theathletic.co.uk/1573136/2020/01/31/transfer-deadline-day-manchester-united-josh-king-transfers-signing/WEST BROM UPDATE This could be a momentous evening for Albion after all. I've just been told by a normally reliable contact that Chris Brunt to Stoke is 'almost done'. Obviously nothing is guaranteed on deadline day and it could eventually hinge on Albion getting people in, but it does sound like the club's longest-serving player - and a modern-day legend - could well have played his last game in a West Brom shirt. I'm told he is keen on the chance to play games in what he knows could be the final few months of his career. He is very close to Stoke manager Michael O'Neill from his time with Northern Ireland. 13 years. 418 appearances. 48 goals. 2 promotions (and possibly a bit-part role in another). If it ends today it's been some career at The Hawthorns.
