I can see this one happening because of the Irish connnection. On a short term deal not the worst deal in the world. Better option at LB than Ward. Good pro too. It’s like choosing between typhoid or cholera though. In this case cholera may at least have a wand of a left foot but nothing else going for it.

Brunt is a far, far better player than Ward, and would add some cohesion and effort to the laughable Stoke defence.
Obviously, CB would only be interested in helping his (ex) international for this season, as he has a long term interest in developing his coaching at WBA.

Can he still play centre midfield?

Can he still play centre midfield? Probably not, that's why he's been pushed out to fullback. A real warrior at his best though.

In their time Ward was a better full back pretty easily. We don’t need a slow 35 year old for left back. Far from it.

See, I don't know why people are worrying.
Wee Joe out for a few sobs and in comes Brunty. Sorted.

Having seen him today I’d happily take him till the end of the season!
His stamina, set pieces and crossing were superb.

If he can pull our squad together and make us better as a stop gap until the summer sign him up Age doesn’t mean anything unless his legs have gone which they don’t appear to have Don’t judge until you have actually seen what he can do for us !

If Allen is on his way out he could be a solution on loan for the remainder of the season?
