With the recent (and not too recent) comments on lack of effort from Tom Ince it got me thinking of other players who were obviously very skilful or absolute game changers but rarely bothered to try or could seem disinterested in some games
Kenwyne Jones Marco Arnautovic (in his early years) Tom Ince Gianelli Imbula Michael Owen Gifton Noel Williams Paul Stewart

First one that sprung to mind for me was Stefan Thordarsson, had all the ability and none of the attitude, don't think his fucked back helped much to be fair tho.
Another was Petur Marteinsson, probably one of the best players on our books at the time but couldn't get a game, I'd love to know what really went on there.

And on the other end of the scale, People who did almost nothing for the club but changed the entire course of Stoke history nevermind a single game .... Step up Souleymane Oularé! Any others?
And finally, those who had no talent, no spirit and no impact ... the folks who contributed less than a pothole (courtesy Cooper67) ..... Kyle Lightbourne springs to mind!

I assumed that the board asked Tony why he wasn't playing him, at which point Pulis would rather have played 10 men than use him.

Much of the good stuff had Arnautovic at the centre of it.

Is it harsh to say Hoekstra, as much as I bloody loved the bloke?
When he was fit, did he influence enough games, that is the question?

Peter Shilton, great for Leicester, could have been better for us, fantastic for Forest.

Tuncay, he was a bit hamstrung by the system and manager but I never felt like he knew exactly what he was doing. But he scored some absolutely stunning goals for us and I don't think anyone could say he wasn't skilful.

Bojan Flattered only to deceive He has 0.03 fewer goals/assist per 90 mins as club legend Matthew Etherington. But ok.

This is turning from a "Stoke players who could be game changers but rarely did" thread to a "Name a load of shit random Stoke players" thread..... I'm trying to use Dave Brammer as a benchmark and go from there. A guy who definitely won us a handful of games but then faded into the background all too often.
