Davies and Smith out of the deep freeze today.
CCV, a week after looking like a possible regular with MON explaining how he's what we need at RB, left out of the 18 for the second game in a row.
Same with BMI, who has dropped like a stone into apparent exile. Maybe a Jan sale?
MON spoke post-match about Lindsay and Batth being a positive and "something to build on" - so Lindsay is another to come in from nowhere for an apparent run.
Same with Cousins. Seemingly a key man now. For how long, we'll see.
Don't want to be too hasty, but it certainly seems Ndiaye and Etebo won't be seen again.
Woods' MON career has gone the same way as with every other manager.
And Gregory's absence is.....odd.
We don't seem to have any idea about how to accommodate Powell and his 30k-a-week. Surely he could offer something wide in the short-term?
But the only 2 it seems we can 100% rule out are Duffy and Campbell.

The only two players worth keeping are ones who don't want to be here more than them all, and can't even get into the matchday squad.

What matters equally is who would be on the ‘wanted’ list of any other club.
Not that many but my guess is that N’Diaye, Etebo, and Butland will have people willing to buy at the right price.
There would be interest in Woods and Campbell probably on a loan basis.
Duffy will negotiate his release from a completely pointless deal.
and of the rest there is only really Allen that other clubs would want but we won’t let that happen.
This transfer window isn’t going to be the saviour that some are banking on.

Sounds like it''ll be loans - but a couple of good ones, as opposed to CCV, Duffy, Hogan and Martina-types could make a difference. We'd probably be open to selling absolutely anyone - but aside from Badou, Etebo and possibly BMI, it's hard to see who we are actively trying to beckon towards the exit door.... who looks remotely shiftable. As you say, maybe Woods...but not sure who would take him exactly? It's the best most of 'em will do - and they know it! |

We are a mess, make no bones about it.
We have a player, who is our player, not on loan, who not so long ago man marked Lionel Messi out of a World Cup game. Let that just sink in a while.
Now, he can't even get a shirt on the subs bench.
We have a player, who came in from being frozen out by two managers to make regular man of the match performances, who also can not get a shirt on our subs bench.
Both of the above are capable of driving forward in posession, tackling and making penetrating passes.
They are OUR players under contract.
If they are leaving in 4,5,6 weeks time so be it BUT that covers anything between 2-7 games where they can gain important points.
Yet they are overlooked by a manager intent on using British players at the moment.
Bizzare, damn right stupid in my eyes.
As for today, it was pathetic.
