Don't talk rubbish. They were on his case after three games. Three tricky games for the poor bloke over Christmas and we are desperately desperate for points. Three defeats and a cup exit and he will be in big trouble. You can’t help but feel sorry for O’Neill. However, his was a crazy appointment that is clearly not going to work. Are you a Labour supporter , they love chucking their toys out their pram when they don’t get what they want as well , either that or you’re really are senile

People moaning about O’Neil after 7 games is pathetic, March you can understand as he’s obviously senile and misses Clueless Pulis to much Mental. But predictable. To make any judgement ahead of at least one transfer window is nuts. Even then it looks like his hands are well and truly tied, if not totally cut off, so he’s still having to work with the most rag tag, mismatched crew since the Wild Bunch got together. We are where we are. We are in the shit. And we are, sadly, shit. Considering that his results have been ok. And the fact that he’s achieved two consecutive clean sheets with a defense that’s holier than a Swiss cheese is pretty impressive. So all in all it’s crazy to be too critical of him as yet. But that’s a logical view and this forum tends not to do logical.

I am actually he might actually walk away if the shit gets too much. He's in a slightly different situation to most manager's in as much as he's got a ready made job to slip back into at anytime, almost a safety net if you like, should it not work out as planned or the board move the goalposts transfer wise. I really think it is a distinct posdy.

Well his record since taking over is top half form and the exact same form a Swansea team showed over all of last season, the manager of which a lot of fans said at the end of the season we should have gone for instead of Rowett the previous summer. Considering how crap our team is, he's done a pretty good job so far. You could say our players are for the most part crap, and you'd be right, but the team we currently put out is O'Neill's selection out of 30+ players (and not even including academy players, some of which are doing really well by the way), so if the team is crap, such as when playing Reading, then the manager selected crap, which isn't really doing a good job, pretty or otherwise. So what you're saying is, in order to do a good job, he needs to pluck good players out of thin air? Of the 30+ players you mention, which players are the good ones he's supposed to be picking? Especially considering badou and etebo are obviously leaving.

Especially considering badou and etebo are obviously leaving. Obviously I'm not accepting that excuse as all Stoke players are for sale and many could be leaving, although it's unlikely they will at the same time. But some are likely to leave and are nonetheless playing, while others are likely to leave and are allegedly banned from playing, though in fact, one of them plays sometimes. I don't consider our reserve and academy players to be thin air. Nor do I consider the Jones ten to be thin air. I think players like Powell, Collins, Sorensen, Jarvis, Davies, Duffy and more should at the very least have been given chances, some from the bench, obviously you don't throw on a keeper as sub unless the first choice is injured, so Davies would have to have been given a start. But you've got my message all wrong. What I'm saying is that the manager who repeatedly selects crap is crap himself. I just haven't seen anything from O'Neill before and after appointment that convinces me that things are going to get better with him in charge.

We're just shy of mid-table on 8-match form, and that includes one loss from immediately before O'Neill joined, otherwise we'd be higher: www.footballwebpages.co.uk/stoke-city/form-guide/eightThe games he's lost have all been by the odd goal, as opposed to threes and fours before he joined. And that's without even having had a transfer window to sign his own players. Poor appointment? Gimme a break.

So, not a terrible appointment.

I'd argue this season is all about survival, given where we find ourselves, and the unthinkable disaster another stint in the third tier would be for our club. Survive, and next season we can think about our style of play. Any flamboyance we do show this season while surviving is a bonus.

We’re obviously not willing to go the extra mile to get a good manager, there’s a salary cap that we’re working to I bet or if a good manager is available at we’re paying they know the score with this club and wouldn’t touch us with a barge pole.
Managers are coming and going thick and fast and the same players are still providing the same shit, literally no tactical thinking, nothing hardly in the final third, any decent team would tear us apart, so on and so on.
I don’t think managerial issues are the major problem but tinkering behind the scenes are without doubt crippling this club.
I still think Hughes let the cat out of the bag with “who else would do it”

Personally I find the title of this post, it’s date of posting (10 December) and subsequent negative posts unbelievable. The incumbent manager has an unbalanced loaded, bloated, mentally fraught squad, with players looking to jump ship in January (of what we know of) and his performance/qualities is/are being seriously questioned by a percentage of social media players on the Oatcake. Yes this is a platform for debate, discussion and opinion, but FFS (IMHO) some should take a deep breath, contemplate and fully consider the content of their posts. We’ve all gone through the mill of disappointment, emotions etc this last few years. From a supporter base perspective let’s try and be constructive even when criticising. Just going to press the “create post” button before I firmly screw on my tin helmet As I said before if you don't like the thread don't post on it, It’s a pity that you don’t follow your own advice.

Impossible to judge at this stage. See what he does in january, then in the summer and judge from there.
His sole remit is to keep us up in whatever way he thinks possible.
I get the impression he is distinctly unimpressed with the dross hes inherited.

At what point are we able to point fi gers in the direction of the charlatans that take to the field each week?
