Ooh, you beat me to it!
Doesn't like playing at RB apparently, what is his natural position?
I get the feeling not many players like Roy Keane and if given half a chance would leave if they didn't think it was cool to ass kiss him anymore because he is ex scum

Did you note the bit about Nugent.
He'd rather sit the next 3 years on the bench than join us or Hull.
So be it.

I have a good mate who is a Mackem and he has always raved about Whitehead saying how he is their best player and certainly was the last year they were up there - he would be gutted!
As much as I would like to see it, I would think there would be competition from the likes of Everton, Boro - but never say never!

clarky slagged keano off a bit.
apparantly he may be a good manager *debateable* but his man-management is not the best

exactly the kind of player we should be looking at in my opinion, would be a great signing, a real leader on the pitch, ballsy player. what we need if we wanna avoid the drop.
he plays centre mid, scored against us last time we played at Sunderland, cancelled out russells opener.

Better player than Higgy imo - and younger as well. Just the sort of player to put alongside Ryan. Pity he isn't a left footer but you can't have everything. He'd be a good buy at a little over what we got for Higgy.

I'd be happy with this signing.

Sunderland's best midfielder by far, not too happy being deployed at right back by all accounts.
We would have serious competition for his signing i would imagine, bit IF we were to capture him, i'd be delighted.

Quality player is whitehead, would go alongside Whelan/delap and would be ever present in our team. Would love it if he joined, really rate him, scores goals, works hard, creates them. What the fuck is forny on about , he's the guy who scored a great goal against us away at SOT, centre mid- captain

Everytime I've seen him play he's been Sunderland's best payer so would be a cracking signing IMHO. What an ugly bastard though.

I heard that he was supposed to be out for 6 months with a knee injury that suddenly didn't need surgery in the end - anyone think that Keane made him put off surgery to help with their relegation battle and thats why the fallout?

Can't believe those S'land fans are talking about the same player. Some see him as one of their most influential players, doing an important job, while others think he's way off P'ship standard and they should snap our hands off is the bid is genuine.
Opinions...everyone's got one.

The last time we picked up a player from Sunderland that the majority said they didn't rate, we ended up with our current player of the season. Let's hope this turns out the same.

The original story is obviously garbage, as he would only leave if Keane deemed him to be surplus to requirements. Sunderland is as good as it gets for Dean. Someone said above that he is our best midfielder, that is quite simply, laughable.

He would be a great buy. Whitehead is a worker, everytime i have seen him he does well, and plus he is used to red and white shirt, perfect.

Pointless bit of information for you. I saw his first professional goal for Oxford in a 3-2 victory over Rushden & Diamonds!!
He would be an incredible signing- he appears to have been the focal point in the Sunderland midfield for a few years now and I am shocked to see him possibly on his way out (especially to us!)
Get him in before Keano has a change of heart!
