I'm gonna take credit for this one. Goes to my dad when he was warming up "he'll come on for Powell and score the winner in the 93rd minute"
I went full Mystic Meg for 1 minute

Diouf always can knick a goal with his drive. He's the McClean of the forwards, gives you all.

Mine and my lad’s favourite player! Over the moon for him and it was great to see how all the team were delighted for him, including the coaches!

Great result, lovely to see Diouf back in the frame.
I am one of those who have said if he was played every match, he would get us 20 goals in a season.
Let's not get carried away, his first touch is dreadful, ball control poor, shooting very poor, but.... he is a good header, gives 100%, and has that instinctive goal poacher's ability to be in the right place at the right time.
Many club recoveries are sparked by an inspirational someone returning. We have done it in the past repeatedly with the returns of Matthews, Ritchie, Hudson, and Pulis. Hopefully the "return" of Mama will inspire our recovery. (Now who's getting carried away!)

So many people slag Mame off but he always gets chances and will get goals at this level. He has also never moaned when he has been made to play wing back, left out and ignored . He always comes back and gives one hundred percent. I am so pleased for him

Hopefully it’s not a flash in the pan for him because given that celebration he clearly cares.

Kevin Campbell doesn’t like this!!! Mame’s instinctive finishing is exceptional.

Very pleasing that he passed it into the net. Bit of composure, most welcome. and there is also an art to forward play which involves the very underrated ability to be able to get yourself in the right place at the right time.

He was absolutely over the moon celebrating that winner down in the corner. The sheer delight on the lads face and seeing how the players celebrated with him made that moment so magic. We went absolutely nuts celebrating with him. Fantastic atmosphere! Well done Mame. Welcome back! 👍🏻

His positional sense has always been his best trait. He has a knack for being in the right place.
It’s just putting away them chances which can be his problem. Chuffed to bits for him.

I'm delighted for him but he should never have been frozen out in the first place.
He even started to get included in the list of names in the 'bomb squad' and he was never, ever deserving of that.

I always wondered why he'd been frozen out for so long. He is the only one of our strikers who has any pace, he has power and aerial ability and a knack of being in the right place to get chances. His first touch is poor and his finishing is too but in the Championship those things are less important and he appears to have all the natural attributes to be a success at this level.
I always assumed it must have been his attitude behind the scenes, maybe he was sulking and thinking he should be playing at a higher level and being billy big bollocks etc. But the way he celebrated suggests that he's delighted to be back on the pitch and getting goals again and so are his team mates which seems to rule out that theory. Seems like another fuck up in the never ending list of fuck ups to pin on that incompetent charlatan Jones.
What an absolute nightmare Jones was. He simply has to be our worst ever manager in terms of sheer, utter incompetence. Even worse than Ball, Kamara, Little and Bates in my opinion.
