Quite an interesting interview. Seemed to still think fondly of Stoke. Remember seeing him playing for a Youth side at Alsager college many years ago,was a tidy player but obviously never made the grade.Nice to see he is having success as a coach.

Well that was a very refreshing listen - some people tend to brush over the Stoke aspect of their careers but clearly the Hudson family are very committed to the club / area - and that was despite Jim whatshisface trying to repeat the name Chelsea as often as he could.

Everything gets back to certain 6 clubs in the premiership They could be taking about crown green bowls but once they find out the person they are talking too supports a Chelsea, Liverpool etc they are constantly trying to get the topic changed to that SSN is the same

Grew up in Penkhull if I remember as they lived in princes road by the old A&E. Didn't his mum later date Lee Sandford for quite a while?

W Hudson family are very committed to the club / area - and that was despite Jim whatshisface trying to repeat the name Chelsea as often as he could. It's actually quite staggering when you listen to it, the utter refusal to engage in any discussion of his time at Stoke. No wonder they have no listeners left.

Think he’s still friends with my dad on Facebook but I haven’t spoke to him in years

Alan Hudson- still the best player I have ever seen play live. Totally agree with you regarding Stoke but George Best was really in a class of his own and Boby Charlton was a fantastic player during his time.

He almost got New Zealand to the world cup finals.
Met Alan a few years ago in Thailand, had a good chat with him, but his son was a bit of a taboo subject, don't think they got on too well.

Think he’s still friends with my dad on Facebook but I haven’t spoke to him in years Well seeing that we are all "name dropping", last year I happened to spend ten days on a cruise with non other than Willy Irvine. He was amongst a group that dined with us. The tales that he told about his days at Burnley, and when on international duty for NI. In those days he had to "room share" - his room mate was George Best.
Those around that table, on the cruise seemed to get a bit bored with our conversation. We had a wonderful few days together - there wasn't an old Stoke player that he didn't know. He respected them all - Smithy, Greenhoff , Conroy .... Well his brother Bobby did play in goal for us for a while.
I gather that he has "had a fall" and isn't too bright at the moment. Get well soon mate.

Many thanks for that Wez. I really do hope that he recovers.
It was a strange experience on that 10 day cruise. Me and the missus arrived first at the table. Then another couple arrived, introduced themselves, and then the man said that two others would be coming soon. He said that the man was an ex pro footballer, and felt sure that he would let us know about it. He was apologising for him.
He had no need for any apologising with me - I loved chatting with him. He liked Stoke a lot.

Really enjoyed that... I love the fact despite repeated „Chelsea legend“ comments by White.... both Alan and Anthony kept jumping straight into about how great Stoke is and their fans lol!! Neither really mentioned any other team 😉

Alan Hudson- still the best player I have ever seen play live. the only outfield players I would put above Hudson that I have seen in the flesh are Maradona, Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Pele and George Best. As good as any British player I have seen. My other favourites being Charlton, Dalglish, Keegan and Hoddle.
