It is impossible. There’s absolutely no chance we finish anywhere near the top 6, yet alone get in there and win the whole thing. Not happening.
Survival is the aim. If MO’N pulls that off then fair fucking play.

50 points maximum as stated in August , terrible squad put together by the worst off field administration in world football and a part time manager l it would still be a remarkable achievement by O’Neil

No, we can’t.
We need to stay up, that’s the only goal for me as far as I’m concerned.

Not a fucking chance. Let's concentrate on survival 1st eh Survival means winning games. Winning games can lead to the top end of the table. Finishing 6th from top is 3 games away from promotion. Party Poopers Suck ;-p

We'd have win roughly 63 out of the next 90 points to have any chance of reaching the play offs so doable, but probably unrealistic.

Goodness me. Silliest thread ever?
If I were an opposition fan coming on this board to read this, I'd be in stitches.
No, no we are not going to get promoted this season.
It'll be a difficult enough task to just get out of the bottom three.

CAN we get promoted?
Which is different from - Will we get promoted?
21 wins minimum required from our remaining fixtures. Yes it's a tall order, but until mathematically impossible the answer is...

People are getting carried away, one win and we're on the promotion run!,one swallow doesn't make a summer. If it happens brilliant but get real folks, let's be happy to stay up ffs and that's if that happens.

Can we get promoted? Definitely. It's not impossible. These before New Year: Wigan H win Cardiff A draw Blackburn H win Hull A draw Luton H win Reading H win Mboro A win Sheff Wed H win Fulham A draw On paper, all of these 5 home games are definitely winnable. Most of the away games too. Mboro aren't a top team. Fulham weren't anything special. What worries me the most here are Cardiff and above all Hull City away. ⚽✌️ Holy shit🤦🏼♂️

Technically possible yes, achievable I don't know, could be too much of an ask.
We just need to make sure we keep our heads together and push on from here. I feel like the ship has been steadied but there is a hell of a long way to go.
I'd be happy with lower/mid table safety this year, with maybe play off expectation next season. Whatever happens, we're in for the long haul with MON, so all we can do is show the same fantastic support we always have and crack on!
UTMP!

It'll be a difficult enough task to just get out of the bottom three. Not the silliest, but as an Albion fan, it did make me smile. I thought I should have a look at the recent past before I got too dismissive of the new Oatcake enthusiasm.
For the last four seasons, to make the PO's the 6th team has needed to make 74 points (twice), 75 points and 80 points. For Stoke to reach such dizzying heights based on these stats, the team must garner 63 points from the remaining 30 games.
To achieve this goal, SCFC will need to get more points per game (2.1) than WBA have in the first 16 (2.06).
I'm all for being upbeat, but......

Let's just beat Wigan and get out of the bottom three (needs Leeds to batter Luton which they are capable of and us to win which we are capable of)

Too many issues in defence.
When they pulled it back to 2-1 it looked far more likely to be 2-2 than it was to be 3-1.

It will cost 200 Million, and that will give us a 4 Billion Windfall for next season...
Let me explain.
Betfair have us at 44/1 For promotion.
So...Spend 100 Million in Jan, for some world class players.
Get Uncle Pete to place 100 Million with Betfair...
We get promoted, and take Betfair for 4 billion...

You could argue that mathematically it is still possible but the variables involved, our recent form and experience of how football leagues pan out suggest to me that there is more chance of finding Lord Lucan riding Shergar around the training pitches at Clayton Wood. We need to concentrate first on getting enough points to get out and stay out of the bottom three.

Promoted 😂😂😂😂 Some people on here make me laugh. Just like on the Knot FM sports show last night people predicting 4’s and 5’s against Wigan and apparently we just have to turn up to win🙄Wigan’s last 2 away performances, lost 1-0 at Derby to a 93rd minute goal after playing them off the park and a late Bristol City equaliser in a 2-2 draw. Oi. Behave. One of those was me! Can’t I at least live in hope for two weeks? 😜

Not if we continue to concede two goals nearly every game. Or we have a manager that is actually anathema to the legend that is March.
One, whose team score four goals ....

Not if we continue to concede two goals nearly every game. I agree the win was fantastic , but the 2 goals conceded, particularly the second were drastic.
