If there was a BACON & BEER BAN coming up, what would you do, how would you react?
I think it's definitely possible, thinking how the winds are blowing.

I must ask:
Is there someone out there who REALLY thinks this ban will do?

Sweden and UK have had a co-operation about banning things for some time and it will continue, be reinforced and include many more things. The Swedish government is willing to come up with new "splendid" ideas. First introduce the shit to the society, then excusing themselves by banning it. Good luck with that ...
When it comes to the poison nicotine Sweden have now forbidden kids to smoke at school altogether. I think the age limit is 18 to be allowed to buy. In the 70ies they had special smoking squares outdoors the pupils could used at the lunch break. Just a memory now. UK is taking it another step further now obviously.
Our government are looking for other things to ban. Noone gets safe, since one suggested farting outdoors and at work places should be forbidden, since that air is filled with nasty stuff.
I wonder how that would work practically. The control function I mean. I know there are fire alarm and different kind of gas alarms, but does it exist a farting gas alarm you could buy? Will they employ a special fart controller? Have they thought about the consequences? Will he/she get a risk bonus?
Bacon next?š¤ I've never bought that, but have noticed it's very difficult to find it at grocery shops these days for those who wants it. I never see it. I'm sure they still sell it, but it sure is hidden these days. Under the counter perhaps?
Edith: Another thing I've thought about. There can be several reasons for not eating meat, I do get that, but sometimes I do hear you shouldn't eat meat since they (the animals) fart - and it's BAD for the environment. Could someone explain. Do they fart more if they're dead?

I recently thought about once when I was getting the bus back home after the rehabilitation for my lower back. It was summer and very hot so I had only my sneakers, thin shorts and a t-shirt on, carrying my backpack. Where I normally change bus half way home I had to search my backpack for something, don't remember what it was or maybe it was just an evasive maneuver to hide my inexplicable erection all of a sudden. Anyway I remember I had taken a glance to the left and discovered a brunette who also did some rehabilitation at the gym, for her left thigh I think it was. She wore just a very tight light grey body shaped dress made of cotton, sunglasses, no shoes and her boobs were struggling not to get away. So maybe it wasn't that inexplicably, just inappropriate. It had been a light nightmare to get on the bus in the first place, it was rather packed and I really stood out ... Like a sledgehammer in front of me. Unfortunately, there was no seat for me. And not for the girl coming on either, and she stood close to me looking down and giggled. That was kind of inappropriate. But I met her another day as well. Actually, I'm more interested in the context of your final sentence ... šāāļø Ok. Well it wasn't appropriate then, so it wouldn't qualify for this thread.š¤

Was it one of those bendy ones or was it rigid? The bus I'm talking about of course. It was rigid, alright.

Laundry Day Pass Wed 17th April 2024
Before the Jake and the Fatman episode at 5 p.m on TV I went down to collect my clothings inside the drying room at the laundry room. I didn't bring that much to the laundry room today, and my hopes the stuff would be dryer early were fulfilled. It's all here now and almost dry.
The (these days) four things on the wash basin were placed very nicely again. Apart from dust in the corners of the drying room everything looked fine, before, during and after my laundry pass. I removed the dust.
I didn't meet anyone when I went down to start the washing machines at 12 a.m and noone when I moved the things from the machines to the drying room at 1:30 p.m. However, after that I went to the library. Only the cutest librarian worked there today. I found out the book by Nessa Carey I re-ordered a few days ago about The Revolution of Epigenetics (recommended by civilestokie here) was placed in that reservation bookshelf. But I hadn't got any mail or something from them saying the book has arrived. She said she didn't know why, and for some reason I come to think of Geri Halliwell when she said it.
After I took the book with me I went to the grocery store (a chain here called Willys). A new girl had started to work there and she reminded me of stunning Klara Hammarstrƶm, a singer who has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest. I might have known her mother before they moved a long long time ago. (investigation continues).
But when I went back home with the noodles, chorizo chicken sausages, soft cheese and pasta made from brown rice and quinoa, there was this guy who stood leaning against the old big building I live in. He hade very dark sunglasses, a denim jacket and jeans, i guess black shoes. He turned his head around a bit and followed me with his sight I guess while I was passing. He looked 110% criminal. A bit like that "Italian" small guy I told you about not long ago. This young man had a similar appearance, but somewhat taller.
I also noticed during my daytime laundry pass that the landlord's housing service team had reinforced every door in the backyard! No wonder, there have been more strange persons around here lately.

You guys who talks about ashes and where to put it, does it mean you don't have a family grave where all the urns are buried then standing side by side?
I know some in Sweden prefer to spread it around in a special memorial grove as they call it. But it's not that easy to be allowed to bring it home.

Apologies if there has been a thread on this. Does it really matter what happens to your ashes? I know it matters alot to some people. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/legacy-funeral-directors-probe-update-b2523388.htmlIf you are told that "these Ashes are 'Daves'"...you have to take it on face value, so in reality is it just a psychological issue. Of course it is all about trust. I've signed up to one of those " No funeral schemes" , I was a bit surprised that my children did want my Ashes. Mind you, they didn't say what they were going to do with them. Presuming I die of course, you never know. I agree, my Dad wanted his scattered on a pitch where he he played GAA football in his younger days We did it but was quite windy and think most ended up near the coffee shop by the ground. Hope no one drank him Walter Sobchiek had the right idea with Donny . A Coffee can, forget all that nonsense In Sweden there's no guarantee any of the ashes "is" the person in question. Actually, they can dig anywhere. Some of it is probably from the person though.
