You have overseen the demise of our football club. I really hope you are proud of the fact that you are overseeing the return to Div 3. Never mind, as one of the richest families in the country you will be happy with your lot. Despite your continued success with 365 you obviously haven't got a clue about running a football club.

The only person in the boardroom who has and the driving force behind £190m of investment , he’s as gutted as you and me , his heirs Hevesy destroyed his legacy and second love , he just needs to take control back abs follow his instincts and find new heirs in the key roles Understand your frustration but these are the comments that lead his daughter to say i honestly dont know why we bother

I won't bash Coates at all. The amount of money and time and resources and (probably) stress that he's poured into this club have all been from the position of love for it.
We're going through a shite time due to poor decisions, but by all accounts, it seems to be since he's decided to take more of a back seat, so he's not directly responsible.
You can't question his commitment when you look at what cash he's ploughed in, and the memories he's given us.
I desperately want them to turn this around, but even if they can't, they will still have credit in the bank as far as I'm concerned, given the decade of thrills they gave us.
Ultimately, his only crime has been to hesitate axing the real villains in the piece who are simply not doing their jobs properly.

Lambert, Rowett, Jones, Neil and Pardew linked.
There's definitely been a stark shift in the type of managers we go for. From effective and stalwart to sniveling and incompetent. Whoever championed these guys needs to be removed immediately. They are killing this club.

Peter Coates is not the problem here, John Coates is the one in full control nowadays and has been for a while now. John doesn’t seem to have a scooby doo

We got away with it when Pulis was here because he knew what he was doing. His real crime is surrounding himself with yes men and mates instead of proper football people who understand football and evolve with the times. The Coates still think its 2001.

As someone who has been going down to Stoke since 1955 I can honestly say that some of the best years I have enjoyed have been under the stewardship of the Coates family, regrettably it now seems that I'm about to witness some of the worst, however I certainly don't think that the family deserve some of the vitreol they get on this message board. Ask yourself, if you won the lottery would you plough it into Stoke City, and do you think you could do better?

Of course they have done good things for the club and given us wonderful times. Does that mean we have no voice when we are watching the club collapse because they wont get the right senior management in. His son can't handle the job plain and simple. JC needs fucking off because he is ruining our club. And scholes needs to go with him.

Denise's club financial self-sufficiency rap really paid off, it represented some real acumen. Christ knows where this decline will all stop

The owners hearts are in the right place but the decision making has been stunningly bad - law of averages says they must get something right soon.

I started to question if he really cared from the moment he released Ric and handed Michael Owen the number 10 shirt. From that moment I realised that we were just a business to him.

The family deserve immense credit for what they did (PAST TENSE). It's time for a parting of ways because it's clear that they can't compete in modern football business.
When even "football pariah Risdale (however you spell that idiots name)" runs rings around you in the press, in 48 hours, it's time to give up.....

Coates is widely regarded as one of the best owners in British football.

All jobs and times come to an end. His deluded and arrogant comments over the past couple of years suggest he’s lost touch.
Employing your son and pals, rather than the best people possible, has cost him and us dear. I can only think the last three managers were chosen for, in part, their lack of gravitas and mental ease too, given it made zero sense to spend so much on players but employ no one with the experience @nd vision and track record to spend it.
His club is rotten top to bottom with apathy and a lack of accountability, and I can’t see beyond the culture created by this nepotism, cronyism and weak leadership to see him as fuelling, if not, seeding the root problem: harsh though that is.
It’s simply possible to be in any job too long.

He is also Joint CEO of Bet365 along with his sister. I don't know, but very much doubt, that he takes a salary for his work at Stoke City. I assume that as Joint CEO of Bet365, he has a greater influence than PC over the issue of Bet365 funds made available to the club.

We have the most expensively assembled squad in the Championship.
Every manager has been given money to spend.
And yet some people are blaming The Coates family for our predicament?
No wonder Denise wants nothing to do with Stoke.
Some Stoke 'fans' are so fucking dense that light bends around them.

If you have that level of finance available then put it to a proper manager who has achieved something in the game. Spending money badly isn't something to celebrate. They're called directors for a reason. Ironic you mention Denise. She hasn't built up Bet365 from a car park in Longton by being as sloppy as her father and brother have at running our club.

Brought into club by Pc in 2006, then formalised as vice chairman in July 2015. Before that worked on legal stuff for his dad at bet 365. In short, at nearly 50, am not sure but it seems he had yet to get one job that was not a handout or leg up from dad. Just think what the club lost out on by not being to scour the planet for the best chairman we could? For a start, someone capable of getting a job for themselves
