Kind of popped into my head earlier as I watched The Terminator on Netflix last night, remastered in HD and 5.1 (thought the 5.1 sound effects are crap).
The Terminator has a legendary soundtrack, and my favourite from the film is Tunnel Chase. The music fits the scene perfectly. You've got a cybernetic organism from the future chasing you down on a bike shooting at you, then getting ran over by a truck, and then chasing you in said truck before exploding. Arguably for me one of the most iconic film scenes, and the part afterward where the full endoskeleton reveals itself.
What are yours lot favourites from films?

Good question, a few spring to mind. Blade Runner by Vangelis Dune the 80s scifi film has a really good soundtrack primarily by Toto! And one of my favourite films is an early 80s teen on the run movie called Times Square with just a great soundtrack album of that earl songs by Joe Jackson XTC , Pretenders, Rox6 Music etc, just a killer soundtrack

Special mention for baby driver, how the whole movie is tied to the soundtrack including gunshots to drum breaks is a masterpiece of film and soundtrack design

The soundtrack to Once Upon a Time in America was famously not finished in time for the 1985 Oscars & although critically acclaimed, missed out.
The soundtrack to The Last Temptation of Christ by Peter Gabriel is V good.

On days like these - Matt Monro The Italian Job That is a beautiful song. As Franc Sinatra said, “You(Britain)didn’t know what you had until he was dead“ & let’s not forget Born Free.

I prefer film scores to be instrumentals, there's enough talking in the actual films.
The sound tracks for the Peter Greenaway films (by Michael Nyman) in the 80's were all great. As were the spaghetti westerns (Morriconi).

Dirty Harry soundtrack by Lalo Schifrin. A great 1970s score that still sounds perfect today.

Dirty Harry soundtrack by Lalo Schifrin. A great 1970s score that still sounds perfect today. I think the opening sequences of Dirty Harry are fantastic, the music is perfect, can just picture Clint picking up the spent cartridge cases now. Casino's opening title sequence is majestic too.

I generally find Gabriel's albums can be patchy but that is excellent.

The film soundtrack that had the biggest impact in the history of music was from "The Blackboard Jungle".
