If I had to choose 1 song from 1 film - Roxette - it must have been love from Pretty Woman - hauntingly beautiful song and works so well in the film.
For overall - agree with Mattador78 - John Williams had it nailed

I know it isn't a composed score, but the entire soundtrack for Pulp Fiction opened so many doors (musically) for me. Many, many warm memories can be directly attributed to this soundtrack in the mid 90s.

But Tarantino does pick some brilliantly obscure and mainstream tunes to flesh out his films

Surprised this hasnโt been mentioned yet? Some classics on here,
Others include Top Gun,
Judgement Night shit film but an amazing soundtrack of hardcore rap mixed with metal/grunge bands.

Good call on judgement night. Same goes for maximum overdrive a truly dire film but with ac/dc doing the soundtrack itโs immensely watchable

I love Aimee Mann, so the film Magnolia springs to mind by P T Anderson. Very good film, made even better by the music.

I love some of the big hitters like James Horner and Hans Zimmer (Dune is an exception).
The Moon soundtrack by Clint Mansell is superb:
Joe Hisaishi's Princess Mononoke soundtrack is incredible, and his Spirited Away soundtrack is perfect (and The Sixth Station scene is one of the best in cinema history):
Scarface is another good one, and I'm not generally a fan of that kind of 80s music. Baby Driver's is superb. Amelie has a fantastic soundtrack by Yann Tiersen.

Watched Saving Private Ryan last night as part of the Tom Hanks tribute piece on channel 5. Loved the opening and closing music by John Williams who has done so many incredible and iconic movie soundtracks.
